Approval of Minutes from April13, 2011 Call The minutes were approved with no changes. III. Winter Institute 2012 Registration update The group was updated on the current registration numbers thus far arid was reminded that the registration goal is 190 attendees, with 63 first years. S Recruitment/marketing ideas Regents discussed ways to market the program to their contacts. The registration announcement was forwarded to organizations in Arizona, Texas, and the New England area. Board members will receive the attended in 2011, not yet registered call lists as it gets closer to the early enrollment deadline. Another marketing suggestion is to reach out to organizations in states that are within driving distance to Arizona. Institute s marketing coordinator, Kelly Aratoon. discussed the save the date cards that will be created to market Winter. Partnering with state organizations on the Pay it Forward incentive is another great marketing tool. Sponsorship/scholarship update The 2012 sponsorship brochure, which is very similar to the 2011 brochure, vill be available in the coming weeks. Sam s Club has generously offered 20 full-tuition scholarships for first year attendees. Institute is once again offering 6 national scholarships for first ; ears as well as one fulltuition scholarship per site in honor of Sheia Lee. Scholarships will also be offered through the Regent Scholarship Fund, and Instwute staff is currently researching the possibility to rename the fund in honor of Sheha Lee. The scholarship deadline is Friday, Cctober 28 h Class Advisor update Matt McCormick informed the group that he is working on a draft hst of Class Advisors to fill 8 sections and will begin to reach out to them shortly. Anyone who has recommendations should send them to Man. 4

August 17, 2011 Conference Call 4:00 PM EDT MINUTES Schedule of activities The group was reminded that Institute registration will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3 and the program will conclude at 11:30 am. on Saturday, January 7th The Board of Regents and Class Advisor Briefing xvffl begin at 11:00 am. on Tuesday, January 3rd Logistics Staff will research the International Wildlife Museum and Old Tucson Studios as possible Big Bash locations. The Savoy Opera House will only considered as a last resort. The board decided to bring in new entertainment for the Big Bash. IV. Assign Outstanding Regent Responsibilities Outstanding responsibilities were assigned. Staff Update 2011 summer sites It was reported that Institute exceeded its overall attendance goal as well as increased the first year attendance from 211 to 223 this past summer. All four sites were a success. Fall Board Meeting The agenda for the 2011 Fall Board Meeting was discussed. The Marketing Strategy Session will take place on Thursday, September 22n1 at 1:00 p.m. Dates for the 2012 Fall Board Meeting are Thursday, October 4th and Friday, October 5th Tom Donohue has been confirmed to speak to the group during lunch on October VI. Other Business/Adjournment Matt Pivarnik updated the group on the success of the IOM ribbon distribution at ACCE s annual meeting. The ribbons were highly visible and generated much interest and awareness. Staff will have envelopes of ribbons available for those attending the Fall Board Meeting to wear and distribute at state meetings. There being no other business the call was adjourned. 5
