4 RETIREMENT ADVISING AVAILABLE Control Your Money Game - Mid-career Seminars Half-day seminars for TRS members who have between 1 and 19 years of service. Retirement Preparation Seminars Full-day seminars for TRS members who are within 5 years of retirement eligibility. Individual Counseling Appointments 20-minute appointments for TRS members who are within 3 years of retirement eligibility. All appointments are outside the Montgomery area. Visit Retirement for the seminar schedule or contact the Athens State Office of Human Resources. PEEHIP OPEN ENROLLMENT BEGAN JULY 1ST ONLINE ONLY THROUGH SEPTEMBER 10TH Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to enroll in or change plans, and add or drop eligible dependents from coverage. Each June, all PEEHIP eligible active and retired members are sent a one-page Open Enrollment notice to their home address. The notice provides information about the Open Enrollment deadlines, how to enroll or make changes online through Member Online Services, and identifies the coverage(s) in which the member is currently enrolled, including the current tobacco status on file with PEEHIP. The Open Enrollment web page is available July 1 every year and provides information about open enrollment deadlines, the PEEHIP Member Handbook, and other important information. Athens State University will be closed Monday, September 5 th, in observance of Labor Day Holiday. LABOR DAY HOLIDAY THE BIGGEST LOSERS Congratulations to Chad Adams, Bethany Campbell, and Vicke Gatlin the Winners of Athens State s 1 st Biggest Loser Weight Competition. Vicke lost an impressive 8.72%, Bethany lost an incredible 11.75%, and Chad lost an unbelievable 13.82%. The entire group lost a total of 188 pounds! Great Job to all of the losers!

6 ALABAMA CENTER FOR THE ARTS Plan now to visit downtown Decatur for the River Clay Fine Arts Festival! The festival will feature artists from North Alabama, the Southeast region and across the country. Experience Downtown Decatur as they celebrate the visual arts in all its forms. Held on the 4th weekend in September of each year, River Clay Fine Arts Festival offers participating artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work, to network and socialize with other artists, and to meet arts patrons from across the region. In addition to visiting with outstanding artists, arts patrons and other attendees will enjoy art demonstrations, musical performances, children s free activities and more. The Alabama Center for the Arts will again have an Emerging Artists tent featuring and selling our student's art. For more information click here!
