With everyone working together we have almost everything completed. Our pool room has new track lighting installed by Bob Valles one of our bartenders. Chantelle, another bartender, with some assistance from Mickey and Sylvia cleaned and dusted all of the books and bookshelves and it looks great. The restrooms are being re-done. Paint, fixtures, fans, etc. What a difference. Jerry Reese is working on the men's room and Chantelle and Richard are working on the ladies room. A lot of hard & long hours have been given to make this happen. They had to make a little adjustment on the paint color but everything looks great. Thank you to Lloyd Wycoff from Camarillo Lodge for the plumbing and fixtures. The dining room has seen a dramatic change. You will just have to see it for yourself. A committee, made up of what we all refer to as "The Moogles" raised the funds to pay $1,200 for the flooring and other expenses. Thanks to our seamstress, Rosa for all of the table covers and curtains. Thanks Mickey for the donation for supplies. Excellent job and saved us a ton of money. Mark and Donna assisted with the cleanup and put some finishing touches on the dining room. Ray R. and Governor Bill gave Winslow Hall a fresh coat of paint. John Nelson ensured that some of the old ceiling tiles were replaced. Everything looks fresh and clean and we will finish by cleaning the carpet tomorrow. Many thanks to Bob Lyon for helping where needed and keeping the new plants watered. As for the Social Quarters area, 3 new shiny ceiling fans, kindly donated by Susanna Anderson, were installed by Bob Valles. The bar area is all clean and tidy thanks to all the bartenders and who cleaned the carpets in that area. Dave Salazar and helpers did an excellent job of trash and cleanup in the back patio. There are big changes in the front entrance with new brick work, new carpet, donations of labor and supplies, some new plants, fixing the sprinklers etc. Maricela did touchup painting and updated the display case in the front entrance. has been working on the storage area, otherwise known as the Ship's room. John & Jerry completed and painted shelving in back stage area and when things settle down we will move things there and get it organized. I am proud of our lodge and I think if you come down you will agree. So, in closing I would like to say Thank You to those that worked so many hours to make our lodge above and beyond. Please come and enjoy your lodge. Dale Pyle, Administrator
4 From Your Senior Regent s Desk! Hello Fellow Co-Workers, Well another month has come and th gone and what a busy one at that. Hope everyone had a great 4 of July with family and friends and stayed safe. If you haven't been to the Lodge lately, you should stop by and see all the new changes. You will be surprised at how nice our renovation has come along. A lot of hard work by our volunteers and co-workers, but well worth it. Our Taco th Tuesdays have been great, selling out every week. On August 11 we will be having a Comedy show jointly with the Lodge, buy your tickets now as this show has sold out in the past! Don't forget Ladies, we have nd th 2 meetings a month, the 2 and 4 Thursday at 6:30. We would love to see some new faces, stop in and see what the Women of the Moose are all about-bring us some fresh ideas. If you know of someone interested in becoming a member, bring them down, show them around. We would love to meet them. Sign up and enroll 2 people during our chapter year (May 2012 through April 2013) and your dues will be paid for 1 yr-what a great incentive! Look forward to see you at the Lodge. Let's move on and move forward Sr. Regent, Mickey Allen AUGUST BIRTHDAYS: James Eldridge; Percy Datcher; Jack Singleton; Francois Kerkhoff; Robert Lyon; Daryl Thomas; Steven Bull; John Zellis, Jr; Martin Miller; Faigofie Aina; Carlos Apodaca; Hector Romero; Francisco Bernal; Larry Maulding; Albert Canez; John Perez; Alex Romero; Gabriel DeLaTorre; Johnathan Brill; Chris Stalsworth; Daniel Salazar; Marjorie Scoles; Mary Soto; Sara Pyle; Rose Guzman; Gloria Ramirez; Gloria Lopez; Eusebia Ramirez; Yolanda Rafal; Charlene Valdivia; Lidia Solorzano; Deborah Jones; Deby Zellis; Letty Preciado; Eva Reyes; Socorro Ramirez; Cathy Levine; Beatriz Garcia; Penny Wall; Irma Reyes; Lupe Alfaro; Lalicia Barber; Veronica Soria; Chantelle Purvis; Patricia Sevier; Rosemary Lucero; Nancy Vargas; Toni Rodriguez; Socorro Ponce; Amanda Volden
5 From the Governor s Desk Hello to all. I gather by now you all have noticed our newsletter has a new look thanks to Cheryl Volden & John Gasperi for working together proofreading & printing the newsletter it is not an easy task to undertake. Also to the dedicated WOTM who have volunteered to collate, label and take them to the post office. The collating and folding is very hard work and they could really use some help. I'd be remiss if didn't thank Alyce and John Nelson for all the years they produced the newsletter month in and month out through various illnesses, falls, surgeries and at times without any help. Your dedication and loyalty to this fraternity is truly appreciated. I speak on behalf of everyone who looks forward to receiving their newsletter. I spoke last month about supporting functions and here's your chance. The Cochino Comedy Show is coming to our lodge Saturday August 11th. Buy your tickets now, seating is limited and we are sure it will be a sellout. A big thanks to Bob Valles for doing a professional job putting up lighting and fans in the Social Quarters. Our lodge is starting to look really nice just in time for the big celebration. It is our time to shine so let's all pitch in and be proud to be part of our lodge. Till next month, take care. Fraternally yours, Bill Gonzales Governor Just a quick note to thank all that have pitched in to tidy up the lodge and with such limits on the budget. We are already getting compliments on how awesome the improvements are. Also, even though Administrator Dale won't mention it. We know that he is putting in lots of hard work himself, as well as having his employees (on his time clock) helping, and the use of his tools and big truck to haul, we really do appreciate it and him. Mitzie Sickness and Distress Corner We send our good wishes to Sharon Harper who had a knee replacement, is in physical therapy and doing well. Condolences to the Atkins and Ponce families on the passing of family member Bob Adkins. Condolences to the Volden family on the passing of family member Betty Splawn.
