Presenters will provide an overview of the cybersecurity industry related to career development, the workforce demand for cybersecurity, technical certifications, and opportunities for internships. Participants will be introduced to resources for curriculum development, including the national standards for cyber education developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education of the National Institutes for Standards and Technology, and to the process for seeking designation by the National Security Agency as a Center of Academic Excellence. Speakers: Paul Maurer, President, Gregory Kerr, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Kelli Burgin, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, and James Tippey, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, Montreat College, Rodney Petersen, Director of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Barbara Lynne Clark, Chief of the National Information Assurance Education and Training Program, National Security Agency Research That Makes a Difference: What Have We Learned from Collaborative Research in the CCCU? Led by members of the CCCU s Christian Higher Education Research Council, this hands-on, interactive workshop will share results from

2 collaborative research projects across the CCCU. Participants will learn the latest information about why our students choose a Christian college, why they persist to graduation, their satisfaction and levels of engagement during the college years, and the valueadded elements of a CCCU education. Furthermore, the seminar will empower participants to apply data-driven decision-making at their own institutions and introduce them to exciting new opportunities to collaborate in a comprehensive assessment of the student experience from entry to graduation and beyond.
