The interns update the websites and write stories related to community news in the KOB, KOBF & KOBR viewing areas. Interns have the ability to further their experience in the TV industry and apply for open positions at the stations. The internship program is ongoing throughout the year. College credit is received for their work at the station. Job Shadowing KOB Staff & High School/College Students 06/01/ /31/2014 KOBTV offers opportunities for high school and college students to experience the ins and outs of the newsroom as well as shadowing. Time is spent with producers, editors, photographers, reporters and the assignment desk staff to learn what these different employment positons are responsible for doing. Students also work with the production team in the making of commercials. Students were from: University of Utah, University of New Mexico, Eastern New Mexico University and a few local high schools. KOBTV Station Tours Promotions Manager, Station Personnel 06/01/ /31/2014 Station tours are conducted at KOBTV on a regular basis for schools and community orgainizations interested in learning about the television industry and careers in broadcasting. During these tours participants see how a TV station works and how to obtain positions in broadcasting including educational requirements. Tour groups also meet with a meteorologist and reporter to learn how the newscasts are produced. Participants include: Natural History Camp; local Charter Schools; various Elementary, Middle and High schools throughout the state; and groups of home schoolers. TV Seminars from the Suzan Strong, 06/08/2013 Station Sales and Engineering staff attended various workshops presented by the New Mexico Broadcasters 06/08/2013 Association. Topics included: Overview of FCC Regulations, Personal Styles in the Workplace, and Handling Objections. Careers to the Future Lorraine Ruggles State of NM 06/12/ /12/2013 KOBTV participated in a Career Fair sponsored by NM Workforce Solutions. Resumes were received and information was given out about positions in a broadcast facility. Managers answered questions about working in the broadcasting industry. New Mexico Broadcasters Association Virtual Job Fair July 2013 Suzan Strong, 07/08/ /12/2013 KOBTV participated in the Virtual Job Fair. posts job openings for the participating stations who promote the job fair onair. Visitors to the virtual job fair site are able to send resumes to participating stations, including KOBTV. Visitors to the website are able to view open positions and submit resumes directly to the participating stations. Fellowship ProgramInside Radio and TV Paula Maes, 08/20/2013 Two journalism students from the University of New Mexico spent a semester in the KOBTV newsroom learning all 12/10/2013 aspects of television news. The fellowship is set up by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association with UNM as a class for journalism students. College credit was received from UNM for student participation in this program.

They learned how a television station operates. Roswell's Out of This World Job Fair Nellie Daniel 04/09/2014 KOBR's employees represented the stations at the Roswell, NM job fair. They spoke with attendess about jobs in 04/09/2014 broadcasting and how to apply for open positions at the stations.
