Ministers of Care bring communion to those who cannot come to Mass. Please call Mary Ellen Akin at or the parish office to arrange a scheduled Minister of Care visit. INSTRUCTIONS FOR EMERGENCY If you or someone you know is in critical condition or near death call weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After hours and on weekends call Please do not use this service for any other reason. INFANT BAPTISM Parents requesting baptism for their children under 7 years old must attend a mandatory preparation class offered every other month. Please call the Parish Office in advance for scheduling or other information. Infant baptisms are the last Sunday of each month. MARRIAGES/MARRIAGE PREPARATION Couples seeking the sacrament of marriage must be registered parishioners who are actively participating in the life of St. George Roman Catholic Parish. The Adoration Chapel is located across from the parish office and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If the office is closed, the chapel will also be closed. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only king over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. At the end of time as we know it, Christ s work of restoring all things to unity and harmony with their Creator God will be completed. This Sunday, when we claim Christ as both our Shepherd and our King, we recognize our own calling to participate in Christ s saving work by caring for those whom Jesus calls the least ones (Matthew 25:45). St. George Giving Tree Our Giving Tree program helps families in our community who have financial difficulties providing a Christmas gift for their children. There are tags with specific requests and a variety of gift card tags for those hard to buy for teenagers. We invite you to take a tag from the tree. Please return all gifts with tag attached NO LATER THAN Friday, December 15, Please do not wrap the gifts, we give the parents wrapping paper to do this. There will be a crib to put the gifts in. Gift cards should be either turned in to the office, given to a Sacristan, or dropped in the collection basket. Thank you for your continued support. 4 HELP FOR THE NEEDY CHRISTMAS LUNCH/MEETING WEDNESDAY, December 13, :30 a.m. Come and celebrate the wonderful holiday season. We are asking that you R.S.V.P. if you are coming to this lunch. Call Grace at ext: 101 PRAYER SHAWLS We have a wonderful group of ladies who knit and crochet on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. They have made some beautiful prayer shawls. These shawls are available in the parish office for anyone wishing to give one to a loved one who is homebound, in a nursing home or hospital, or just someone who is ill. POLISH MASS Fr. Stan celebrates a Mass in Polish on the 1st Saturday of every month at 6:00 p.m. SAINT GEORGE QUILTERS The Saint George Quilting Group meets Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the social hall. The quilts we make are distributed to those in need throughout the community. You do not need to be a quilter to join us. Donations of fabric, batting and other sewing notions are always welcome. 6 The EDGE and Life Teen students will be sponsoring a Kid Free Shopping Day! On Saturday, December 2nd. As one of our community service projects, the EDGE and Life Teen students and Core (adults) will provide childcare from 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. to enable parents to shop or make other holiday preparations. Kids ages kindergarten through 5th grade will enjoy making Gingerbread houses and other Christmas projects. We will have activities, movies and provide lunch.
