5 Speaker Biographies Susan Gallagher Education and Workforce Program Manager, Western Transportation Institute Susan Gallagher is the Education and Workforce Program Manager at the Western Transportation Institute (WTI) at Montana State University. She is the project manager for the FHWA West Region Transportation Workforce Center, a Center focused on leveraging resources, replicating best practices, and catalyzing strategic partnerships between industry, education, training, economic development, and labor interests to build a right-sized and career ready transportation workforce in a ten-state western region. Ms. Gallagher additionally coordinates education-related initiatives for WTI s University Transportation Center programs, including student recruitment, student research involvement, grant writing, program development and management, and K-12 outreach. Michael King Transportation Planner, Colorado DOT Mr. King is a transportation planner with Colorado DOT s Multimodal Planning Branch and works on a variety of projects related to transportation technology, alternate fuels, workforce adaptation, and other futures-oriented issues. Prior to working with Colorado DOT he studied International Development with a focus on Sustainable Urban Development at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. David Levin CEO/President, Four Winds Interactive In 2005, David co-founded Four Winds Interactive with a vision for how digital technology would transform the way businesses communicate and engage with their customers and employees. With 5,000+ clients and over 300,000 screens deployed, FWI s software platform is driving visual communications to millions of people every day in airports, banks, corporate campuses, professional sports stadiums, hospitals, hotels, casinos, universities, manufacturing facilities and retail stores. FWI was recently selected by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in Content Management and David has been recognized by Forbes Magazine s list of most promising CEO s under 35. Prior to FWI, David co-founded Sage Circle, a software and consulting services firm and was an Associate at Denver-based venture capital firm, Cornerstone Ventures. When not working, David enjoys golf, skiing, running and travel.

6 Mike P. Lewis Deputy Executive Director, Colorado DOT Mike P. Lewis joined the Colorado DOT in May 2015 as the Deputy Executive Director. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Rhode Island DOT and board member of Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority, and Rhode Island Public Rail Corporation from March 2008 February Prior to appointments in Rhode Island, he served as the Director of Boston s Central Artery Tunnel Project (The Big Dig) from April 2000 until project completion in Mike was responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the $14.8 billion planning, design and construction program widely recognized as the most complex and technologically challenging public works project in the nation s history. In addition, he served as President of the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) from November ; and served on the congressionally mandated North East Corridor Infrastructure and Operations Commission from 2010 February Mike lives in Denver with his wife and together, they have three grown children. Elizabeth Mayes Vice-President, Talent Development, Four Winds Interactive Elizabeth is an international human resources executive, with more than twenty-five years of professional experience, working in more than a dozen international locations. Operating in both public and private environments, ranging from small to large, Elizabeth has worked in a variety of industries: non-profit, financial services, property management, customer service, technology, and advertising. Prior to Four Winds, Elizabeth held the role of Executive Director Human Resources at TeleTech, overseeing TeleTech s M & A Human Resources practice. Elizabeth holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in French and English from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Danny Rotert Burns and McDonnell Danny Rotert brings a range of communications experience to the Burns and McDonnell team. He understands and has communicated complex transportation issues across all levels of government with a focus on innovation. As a public affairs specialist for one of the nation s leading MPOs, he designed public engagement campaigns for a variety of planning processes. While communications director for the Mayor

7 of Kansas City, Danny s efforts contributed to the Mayor being named one of the top 5 innovative mayors in the nation by Newsweek Magazine. He initiated, built, and launched America s largest municipal open-source website named the nation s best by the National Association of Government Webmasters. Danny has lead digital engagement efforts from concept to development for the Chicago DOT and Major League Baseball. Danny is currently leading data-driven culture change initiatives for the Nebraska Department of Roads and the Transportation Research Board. Michelle Scheuerman Statewide Planning Manager, Colorado DOT Michelle graduated with a BS Degree in Marketing with an emphasis on Public Involvement from Sacred Heart University. Michelle has over 25 years of Public Involvement and Transportation Planning experience and is currently serving as the Statewide Planning Manager for the Colorado DOT. Michelle is responsible for implementing the Statewide Planning process, the development of the Statewide Transportation Plan, facilitating discussions on issues of statewide significance within Colorado DOT and with local planning partners, and employing other statewide planning initiatives. Most recently, Michelle served as the Project Manager for the Futures Forward Initiative which led to the Work Force Adaptation Peer Exchange and influenced the Work Force Skillset Gap Analysis effort currently being conducted at Colorado DOT. Some key accolades and accomplishments include the Woman in Transportation of the Year Award, and the development of collaborative processes, public involvement techniques, and study methodologies that have been employed Colorado DOT wide. Beverly S. Wyatt HR Business Partner, Colorado DOT Beverly was born and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. After high school, she came to Colorado to attend the University of Denver where she earned her BA degree. Then she earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Alabama. She has been employed in public sector for 19 years, 16 of those being at Colorado DOT. At Colorado DOT she has held and supervised many of the HR functions within the Division of Human Resources. In her current role as HR Business Partner, she provides the strategic technological direction that supports and optimizes the day to day business functions and Colorado DOT s talent management programs.
