EAST BUTLER MINI FOOTBALL HELMETS Just like the real East Butler varsity helmets, but smaller. These would make a great gift for any former, present or future East Butler football players. The helmets are Riddell Speed Revolution style mini helmets with East Butler decals and colors. 2 COUNSELOR S NOTES: *Titan Machinery sponsors a program for students in the Central Community College diesel technology program. They select students who they will pay all CCC school costs, including tuition, fees, books and tools (not room/board). The selected students will be asked to work for Titan Machinery for two years upon completion of their CCC diesel program AAS degree. See Mrs. Simmerman for more info. *ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP--application can be found at *MARIE CURIE SCHOLARSHIP--Females interested in majoring in math, biology, human biology or chemistry and wanting to attend The College of St. Mary. See Mrs. Simmerman for more info. *REMINDER: Any Junior or Senior who would like to take the ASVAB test needs to sign up in the Counselor's Office. The test will be Oct. 31st at 9:00 AM here at the school. If you are considering joining a branch of service, you MUST have an updated ASVAB test. *SENIORS: Monsanto has created a new scholarship program called "America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders". Students have the opportunity to earn a $1500 scholarship to further their agricultural education. If this interests you, go to FFA.org/scholarships. The application period starts Nov. 15. *Wayne St. College has audition dates set for the music scholarships. If interested, see Mrs. Simmerman *Northeast Comm. College has a veterinary technology career day set for Wed., Nov. 13th and Mon., Nov. 18th. You must register if you are interested in these days. *SENIORS and PARENTS: REMINDER: There is a Financial Aid Program (FAP) available for you to attend on Thursday, October 31st at 6:00 PM at David City Public School. Please enter on the north side of the building. This meeting will be put on by Education Quest and will include information on completing the FAFSA report. Any student that attends with their parent/guardian is eligible to apply for a $500 Financial Aid ProgramScholarship. See EducationQuest.org for more details. *SENIORS: GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program has their applications available online. The deadline for these $10,000 renewable scholarships is January 9, See Mrs. Simmerman for more information. *Seniors: UNO Department of Music has scholarships and auditions available for students who may be interested in pursuing music in college. Please see Mrs. Simmerman for more information. *JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS: If you are interested in the field of Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Physician s Assistant, you might want to consider The College of St. Mary s. They are holding a Health Career Campus Day on Wed. November 13. For more information, please see Mrs. Simmerman. *SENIORS: UNK has a scholarship for tuition, fees, room, board and books for 4 years available. If you have a 30+ ACT score and top 10% of your class please see Mrs. Simmerman for more information. The deadline is Nov. 15th. *JUNIORS: Job Shadow Day will be Friday, November 15. All juniors will be required to set up a job shadow experience with a business or professional they are interested in learning more about. The experience needs to be at least 4 hours in length and the students are responsible for making the contact and setting up the experience. Students need to make sure their business/ professional contacts Mrs. Simmerman. More details and specifics will be coming to assist with this process. *Hagan Scholarship is available. Would you like to earn up to $5000 a semester? This will allow time to order Christmas gifts for your family. ATHLETIC COMMITTEE FUN NIGHT WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9 TH AT THE DWIGHT LEGION HALL. Doors will open at 1:00 and the Nebraska vs. Michigan football game will start at 2:30. Kids and Adult games will start at 2:00. A tailgate buffet featuring burgers, brats, BBQ pork, Nachos and more will be served from 3:00 to 7:00. The auction and raffle drawing will be held at 7:00. Prizes for best dressed Husker fan in elementary, high school and adult categories. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and can be purchased at the door. Plan to attend and cheer on the Huskers while supporting the East Butler Athletic Programs. Student Athletes are reminded to turn their raffle tickets into their coaches by Wednesday November 6 th.
