1 Assessing Student Learning Outcomes: A University-Wide Agenda Academic Affairs is pleased to welcome faculty and professional staff to the 2007 Fall Faculty and Professional Staff Institute. This year s theme, Assessing Student Learning Outcomes: A University-Wide Agenda is indeed timely. The academic year serves as the beginning of HSSU s three-year self-study in preparation for the institution s North Central Accreditation. Therefore, institutional assessment is the major focus of this year s fall institute. During the Institute, we shall as a campus community, examine the measurement of student learning outcomes, what attributes should an HSSU graduate possess, and what can the institution do to motivate student learning in an effort to improve student leaning outcomes. The purpose of the Institute is to serve as a catalyst to assist in beginning the discourse of assessment and inform faculty and professional staff of the role that we each play in student learning. Presenter: Ms. Camille Hazeur Location: 203 HGA Developing Policies and Processes for Online Education at HSSU In an effort to remain competitive with other institutions, HSSU has made significant progress in its online education offerings. Yet, maintaining academic integrity is critical. This workshop will examine the policies and processes of integrating online education into the HSSU culture and what must be in place to ensure that our online courses maintain academic rigor.
