5 Introduction to the Local Scholarship Booklet Each year, more and more high school seniors are contemplating a college education. One of the major questions facing each of these seniors is HOW DO I FINANCE THIS COLLEGE EDUCATION? Part of the problem has been met by non-college sources such as governmental and private organizations, clubs, schools, etc. This booklet has been compiled for Watertown High School students to help them in their quest for financial support for higher education. These scholarships are made possible by the generous support from our local businessmen, civic organizations, and local citizens. Students should remember, however, that this is only a partial listing and they should check every available source for further financial aid (Naviance scholarship list, fastweb, collegeboard, fraternal organizations, religious groups, colleges, etc.). Almost all of the colleges offer some sort of financial aid. This might take the form of a scholarship, a job, a loan, or a combination of these. Always check with the college of your choice for their particular financial assistance. If you have any further questions concerning financial aid, please consult your counselor. 1
