We are delighted that you have chosen to pursue higher education. Enclosed is everything you need to apply as well as the guidelines the Scholarship Review Panel uses to determine the three (3) winners. It is very important that your completed scholarship packet be postmarked no later than February 28, Scholarship packets postmarked after this date will be automatically disqualified. In addition, please pay close attention to the list of required documents that must be included with your completed scholarship packet. Any missing information or supporting documents may result in your application being disqualified. Please prepare your scholarship packet neatly by printing or typing the information. Take time to review your completed scholarship packet before submission. You may find it of value to have another person look over your application as well. Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship 1. Applicant must be a primary member of APCU with his/her own account.* 2. Applicant s account must be in good standing with no delinquent, charged off loans or credit card accounts, or account overdrafts. 3. Applicant must be a high school senior who has been accepted into an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school. 4. Applicant must submit a copy of the last two years transcript for high school. 5. Applicant must complete an essay of words addressing the question contained within the application. 6. The completed scholarship packet and supporting documentation must be postmarked no later than February 28, Applicant is required to have a parent or guardian sign the Application Certification and Release Form if the applicant is younger than 18 years of age. 8. Applicant agrees to have a photograph taken for use in credit union publications and agrees APCU may use their name and essay for any credit union publication. 9. 3 APCU Youth Member Development Scholarship Program Description APCU s philosophy of people helping people has been the cornerstone and principle that has guided our service to members since The APCU Youth Member Development Scholarship reflects our belief that education is the foundation that helps our young members build a strong, financially secure future. The 2018 APCU Scholarship Program awards three $1,000 scholarships to members who demonstrate academic excellence, citizenship, and credit union participation. How To Apply: APCU has made it easy to apply for the scholarship program. Scholarship application packets may be picked up at any APCU branch, mailed by calling our Marketing Department at (404) or toll-free at (800) , or by visiting our website at Hover your cursor over the Accounts tab, click on CU Succeed in the dropbox, then look under the Annual Scholarship Contest header. Print the instructions and application. 1. Submit a completed scholarship packet and you are automatically entered into the program. 2. Mail the completed scholarship packet, with all required documents, to APCU postmarked no later than February 28, APCU Scholarship Review Panel 400 Tradeport Blvd., Ste. 401 Atlanta, GA Please make certain you answer all information. If necessary, photocopy your scholarship packet contents and attach any additional pages needed to complete your submission. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Who Is Eligible? You are eligible to apply if you are a primary member of APCU with your own account. If you are not a member, you may join APCU and become eligible to apply. Your accounts (checking, ATM or Check Card, savings, etc.) must be in good standing with no delinquent or charged off loans or credit card accounts. Also, you must be a graduating high school senior who will enroll in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. APCU employees, members of the Board of Directors, volunteers, and each of their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) and individuals living in the same households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, are not eligible to enter or win.

4 How Are Recipients Selected? The APCU scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, citizenship, community and school involvement, and are APCU members. How Much Are The Awards? APCU will award three $1,000 scholarships. Awards will be distributed directly to the winners by means of two (2) deposits into his/her Primary Savings (Share) Account once the member is enrolled in an accredited school as described above. Proof of enrollment must be provided in the form of an Attendance Verification Form from the school prior to distribution. Distribution will be one half at the beginning of the school year (approximately August) and one half at the start of the second semester (approximately January). 5 2018 Youth Member Development Scholarship Application The Youth Member Development Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and acknowledge graduating high school seniors in APCU s field of membership. The APCU scholarship rewards students who demonstrate the credit union s philosophy of people helping people by giving back to the community in which he/she lives through service and volunteerism. Also taken into consideration is the student s school involvement and his/her personal character that we see through the completion of an essay and letters of recommendation. 10 Youth Member Development Scholarship Submission Checklist I am a primary member of APCU with my own account. I have included my APCU member number on my application. All my accounts are in good standing with APCU and I have no delinquent loans or credit cards. I am a high school senior. I have a GPA of 2.0 or better. I have been accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or technical school. I have signed the Application Certification and Release Form.
