Jun 26-28, 2012 Sep 24-26, 2012 Jan 8-10, 2013 May 21-23, 2013 PROCESS SafETY MANAGEMENT (PSM) INTRODUCTION SH 920 $ Hours Process Safety Management, or PSM, is an OSHA requirement for companies that utilize Highly Hazardous Chemicals, HHC, in their manufacturing process. The OSHA requirements were developed in response to the Clean Air Act. This course describes the procedures required by OSHA and instructs the student in how to design a full implementation of a PSM program that addresses the hazardous issues and is compliant with the OSHA requirements. The course is designed for anyone who is in the management of a PSM facility or whose responsibilities include establishing or auditing the process to insure compliance. Instructor: Bill Wiley Smith, P.E. May 22-24, 2012 Aug 14-16, 2012 Oct 9-11, 2012 Feb 5-7, 2013 May 15-18, 2012 Oct 9-12, 2012 Apr 9-12, OSHA EDUCATION CENTER

21 SafETYCOMPASS - DYNAMIC SafEGUARDING in the WORkplACE SH 940 $ Hours Incidents occur in dynamic, constantly changing and often unpredictable environments. Various mechanical and procedural safeguards are used to mitigate the risk of incidents occurring. Such safeguards are necessary and have proven effective; but they are limited by their static nature. These safeguards are usually fixed, non-responsive and slow to adapt, leaving them inherently inadequate to mitigate risks in dynamic work environments. People, on the other hand, are suited to serve as a dynamic safeguard against incidents. When front-line employees see something unsafe in the moment, they are uniquely positioned to stop it and prevent it from resulting in an incident. However, employees often fail to fulfill this role. This training gives participants a thorough understanding of safeguarding issues, presents solutions, case studies and exercises relevant to the ESH field, which will then enable participants to implement solutions within their organizations. SH 950 ASP SAFETY FUNDAMENTALS PREPARATION WORKSHOP $ hours This is a three-day review course for those preparing for the Safety Fundamentals Examination, leading to the designation of Associate Safety Professional (ASP). This course is an excellent review for those desiring to determine whether they are ready to attempt the Safety Fundamentals Examination by identifying areas where extra preparation is necessary. You will become familiar with preparation resources available, learn about certification requirements and scoring procedures, and review content material in an informal environment utilizing a testing format including an opportunity for discussion. Instructor: C. David Langlois, CSP Jul 23-25, 2012 Apr 22-24, 2013 Instructor: Michael Allen, M.S. Apr 24-27, 2012 Sep 18-21, 2012 Jan 29 - Feb 1, 2013 PROjECT MANAGEMENT for EHS PROfESSIONAls SH 930 $ hours Project Management is both an art and a science. This course introduces EHS professionals to the methodology, tools, and techniques needed to deliver successful projects. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the project management framework consisting of project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure. Through course exercises and scenarios, participants will build skills in assessing and managing stakeholders, identifying and controlling project scope, developing a Project Plan and other critical project documentation, managing risks, and building the project schedule and budget. Instructor: Audrey Holman, PMP Jul 31 - Aug 3, 2012 Nov 6-9, 2012 Feb 19-22, 2013 CSP COMPREHENSIVE EXAM PREPARATION WORKSHOP SH 960 $ Hours This three-day course is designed to prepare you for the Comprehensive Examination leading to certification as a CSP. Participants have successfully passed the Fundamentals Examination, or were exempt because of another certification acceptable to the BCSP such as CIH, CHP, PE, GSP, etc. The course covers all three areas of the exam. The course consists of lectures, sample problems, and discussions on a variety of subjects to prepare the student for the exam. Pertinent reference materials are also discussed to allow students to focus their studies in specific areas prior to sitting for the exam. In particular, this course will provide an outline for study, review details and current blueprints of the test subjects, provide practice problems, review current study aids and suggested reading material, and identify areas where you need additional study.
