Please allow ample time to register and find your room. Workshops begin at 8:45 a.m.* LISTEN UP A Practical Guideline for Workplace Hearing Conservation Workplace Safety and Health Legislation addresses problems relating to occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Depending on the level of noise your employees are exposed to, the legislation imposed a legal duty on the em-ployer to implement education, surveillance and noise control procedures. Employees are trained in the im-portance of selecting the right type, fit and proper use of hearing protection for the particular job they are doing. Safety Representative and Committees What to Expect During WSH Inspections Legally, every employer on every jobsite must have at minimum a designated safety representative and/or a safety committee familiar with their legal duties and responsibilities. What s happening on your work sites? What should you be doing? This workshop is specifically tailored to the roles of the site worker safety representatives and com-mittee members. Learn the guidelines and practical solutions to dealing with your legislated responsibilities for safety and health concerns on the jobsite and within your company. Confusion and sometimes fear or negativity often accompany a visit from a government Workplace Safety and Health Officer on a jobsite. This presentation facilitated by WSH Officers will help participants understand why officers visit worksites, what your responsibilities are once an officer comes on site, what is involved in WSH inspec-tions and investigations, and what exactly an improvement order or stop work order is as well as how to satisfy the order. * Receive one draw entry per individual registered, with no limit for registrations! Individual registering participants is entered into the draw. Course credit toward Construction Safety Officer Designation Course includes hands on Component Certificate of Training issued **All participants will receive either a CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE or the highly coveted CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING for each course attended at CSAM - THE Safety Conference. CERTIFICATES OF TRAINING will ONLY be provided to individuals who attend the training workshop AND successfully complete the evaluation component for that course - ie: a written and/or performance test.

The first of its kind in the world the Standard expands the lens of OHS beyond the physical to include psychological wellness and injury. Learn more about the Standard, the workplaces factors that impact psychological health and safety and how implementing the Standard is good for the bottom line, compliance and building a culture of safety. Workplace Mental Health Starting the Discussion This presentation will focus on three main areas: 1) overcoming barriers around addressing mental health problems in the workplace, 2) identifying supports and resources that are effective and available to assist employers, managers, and workplace health and safety teams in addressing workplace mental health issues, and 3) an introduction to training opportunities, including the goals and expected outcomes of different mental health focused trainings being offered in Winnipeg and Manitoba. Employer Liability As an employer in construction there is an immense amount of responsibility and accountability. This informative presentation will dispense of rumours and myths surrounding what employers and workers are responsible for and discuss legal obligations and liabilities allowing employers to make informed legal, moral, and ethical business decisions. DAY 2 Manager s Toolkit for MSI Prevention Participants will come away from this session with a toolkit for change. Resources for the prevention of MSIs, ergonomic analysis, updating safe work procedures and enforcement guidelines will be provided. Participants will discuss task specific ergonomics and MSIs and learn how early identification of MSIs, the associated risk factors, and customized task specific training can help in the prevention of injuries, reducing costly WCB Claims and ensuring employee retention. Management methods that facilitate changes in safe working behaviours will be covered as well as strategies to motivate employees and provide incentives that will impact production and safety. Participants will learn how ongoing analysis and enforcement is key to the success of a program. More Effective Safety Management Through Technology With so much information being shared every day, how can we accurately capture, organize and share that information with all key stakeholders in a timely manner. In this workshop, we will demonstrate how Microsoft OneNote can help you more effectively manage key communication regarding investigations, incidences, meeting items, follow-up tasks and much more. The second part of this workshop will introduce participants to Smartsheet, an online collaboration tool that provides real time status of any workflow items you might want to track.
