New Brunswick's rate of 8.9 per cent was 0.4 of a percentage point lower then last month and was 0.4 of a percentage point lower when compared to the same month last year. This was a decrease of 4,900 over the previous month, and was a decrease of 800 over the same month last year. Page 2

UNEMPLOYMENT IN NEW BRUNSWICK There were 34,600 people unemployed and seeking work in January. This was 2,000 less than the previous month and was 1,500 less than the same month last year. Page 3

4 % THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN NEW BRUNSWICK New Brunswick s unemployment rate of 8.9 per cent in January was 0.4 of a percentage point lower than the previous month and was 0.4 of a percentage point lower than the same month last year.
