4 Public Engagement and Outreach Objectives Goal 1: Inform, involve, and collaborate with multiple audiences during the preparation of the regional transportation plan. Goal 2: Take public inquiries, comments, suggestions, and ideas into account during the review and decision-making process. Goal 3: Use a variety of communication techniques to reach diverse audiences and publish all proceedings and records for public review Goal 4: Provide the public with many different ways to access information and participate in the process.

12 Focused Outreach A variety of strategies Survey questions a variety of options for getting questions answered in person interviews meetings and discussion, filling out paper form on-line Keeping with best practices go to where people already are (instead of asking them to come to a meeting) incentivizing them if they are asked to attend a meeting (providing transit passes) Working with Community Based Organizations enlisting help collaborate, convene, communicate building relationships with PSRC working with organizations people already know and trust asking the CBO s the best way to communicate
