RECRUITMET IITIATIVES Date 6/8/7 6//7 6/9/7 7//7 /9/7 //7 /8/7 Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) sponsored by community groups Participation in Job Fairs sponsored by community groups Brief Description Of Activity Our SEU took six 9th graders, one 6th grader and three parents on a tour of our studios. They learned about jobs in radio and spoke to one of our program directors and were even put on-air by Aly Jacobs. Our SEU participated in the Media Sales Institute Recruiter Days at Howard University in Washington DC and talked to college students about careers in media and radio. Our SEU met one-onone with 8 participants to talk more in depth about careers. Our SEU gave the City of Gaithersburg Sound camp attendees, aprox. 6 middle -school age students a tour of our facilities and learned about careers in broadcasting and media sales. Our SEU spoke to more than 6 high school seniors and juniors about careers in radio at the Washington Journalism and Media Conference hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Our SEU gave a tour of our studios to 3 students that attend Ballou High School in Washington, DC.They recorded content with on-air jocks as well as answering listener phone calls. They were told about what you can do to put yourself in a better position to get a career in radio. Our SEU gave a tour of the studios and 4 facilities to Communications students from Montgomery College in Rockville MD. On-air hosts, sales staff and programming staff from 4 of our stations gave tours of the studios and spoke to the students about careers in radio. RECRUITMET IITIATIVES 8 9 Date /9/8 //8 3//8 3/6/8 Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) Brief Description Of Activity Our SEU gave a tour of our studios to boy scouts from Troop 67 in the Occoquan district of CAC. On Air talent gave them insight into the radio world and developed interest in careers for the future. Our SEU was a guest speaker at Edison High School in Fairfax, VA and spoke to marketing classes about radio marketing. Our SEU gave a tour of the studios and facilities to 6 students who were attending the ational Broadcasting Society Convention in Bethesda. The students were from ashville, Kentucky, Alabama and Philadelphia. On-air host from of our stations spoke to the students about careers in radio. Our SEU hosted a group of approximately 35 Virginia State University students who are studying communications.
