1 For Immediate Release July 23, GIANTS TRAINING CAMP INFORMATION EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. The 2013 New York Giants Training Camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center will begin on Friday, July 26 when all players report for physicals and conditioning. The first practice session will take place on Saturday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. The normal training camp schedule has the team on the practice field from 1:30 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. The public portion of training camp is scheduled to close on Wednesday, August 21, three days prior to the preseason home finale against the Jets. All training camp practice sessions will be open to the public and general admission seating for approximately 2,000 is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Standing room along the fence line outside the practice field is also available. There is no admission charge for watching training camp workouts and parking is free. Public parking is in Lot K on the grounds of the MetLife Sports Complex. The lots will to the public one hour before the scheduled start time of practice and lots will close one hour following the conclusion of practice. In January, the Giants announced that they would not hold training camp this summer at the University at Albany, where the team has trained 16 of the previous 17 years. TRAINING CAMP POLICIES Credentials: All media should use the Giants on-line credentialing (giants.com/mediacreds; Both username and password are giants respectively) system in advance to obtain credentials for 2013 Giants Training Camp. Credentials will be picked up at media check-in outside the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Credentials will grant media access to the media workroom, player interview area and practice field. The media credential must be worn in clear view at all times while on the Quest Diagnostics Training Center grounds. Season Credential Requests Due: All season credentials should be submitted through the Giants on-line credentialing system. Editors and Sports Directors can access the system and apply for season credentials by visiting the Giants credential website at giants.com/mediacreds (Both username and password are giants respectively). 3 Practice: All practice sessions during training camp are open to the media. There may be time periods during practice when photographers will not be allowed to shoot. (Note: Tripods are prohibited on the field.) Media must stay in designated media areas on the practice field and be mindful of obstructing the view of fans in attendance of practice. Members of the Giants communications staff will be on the field during practice to further explain when and where photographers are allowed to shoot. Injury Information: The dissemination of all injury information will be handled by Head Coach Tom Coughlin. When available, injury updates will be included in the daily notebook. Interviews: All interviews, particularly those desired by the media who do not cover the Giants on a regular basis, should be arranged in advance with the team s communications department. When possible, we would like to know whom you would like to interview by 10:30 a.m., so the players will be notified before lunch. Coach Coughlin is generally available on the field on a daily basis after practice. Assistant Coaches have scheduled availability, check with the Giants Communications staff for the schedule. All interview requests for Giants ownership, general manager Jerry Reese, or other members of the Giants organization should be made through the Giants Communications department. Live shots are allowed in designated areas at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Giants Communications must be notified in advance of any TV live shots if Giants personnel are involved. TV/radio sit-down interviews must be arranged in advance through Giants Communications. Press Dining: We invite you to be our guest for lunch at training camp. Lunch will be served to the media at approximately 11:00 a.m. Press Workroom: The press workroom in the Quest Diagnostics Training Center is equipped with hardwired and wireless high-speed internet access. In addition to the press workroom inside the Quest Diagnostics Training Center, the Giants have provided two climate-controlled media trailers for auxiliary media space. The Trailers are equipped with wireless high-speed internet access. Media Conference Calls with Coach Coughlin: Tom Coughlin will host a media conference call the day after each preseason game to re-cap the previous day s contest. Fan Guidelines: Practice sessions will be open to the public throughout training camp (July 27-Aug. 21). Limited seating is provided alongside the practice fields. Restroom facilities concession stands and a free kid s activity area will also be available. The Giants will host a special autograph day on Sunday, July 28 when the entire team will sign autographs for fans after practice.
