In addition to money, the dental group will be giving away some gift cards and glowing electric toothbrushes. Mark Hildahl of Souris Valley Dental said, "Ditch the candy, that's what we're saying. Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventive measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost. Friday Night Kids Club set WILLISTON Emmanuel Free Lutheran Church of Williston will host a free Friday Night Kids Club from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 6. "This is our way of reaching out to the community and providing a night of fun for the children as well as a night off for parents," Rev. Jon Wellumson said. "There will be no cost to the parents. It is an opportunity for them to take a night for themselves to go to dinner, a movie, or just get some work done around home." The idea of a Friday night kids club came from a brainstorming session in which members of Emmanuel were trying to find a ministry opportunity and an outreach to the community. They wanted to get the word out that the church is here for the entire family, not just to preach on Sunday morning, but to help them out in a real and tangible way. Children will be served supper at about 6 p.m. and they will fill in the rest of the evening with games, stories, movies, crafts, and a lot of fun. "Parents are welcome to drop their children off anytime during the evening," Wellumson said. "They can leave them for one hour, two hours or the entire evening."
