BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF ATHLETICS When I worked as a student graphic designer for the Bemidji State University Office of Communications and Marketing, I was tasked with creating print material for the Athletic s Department. Some of the materials in the campaign were a large format poster, pocket-sized cards that held the hockey season schedule, as well as a cover design for the program-guide that was distributed at different hockey games. The brief of these materials called for a fresh, modern look. Much of past athletics print material had a heightened, gritty, grunge-esque appeal. The Athletic s Department requested that the new print material focus on action shots of the hockey players, as well as a clean, straight forward layout for the hockey season schedule to be displayed and easily recognized.

NORTHERN STUDENT The above print materials were created out of a necessity for the Bemidji State University campus newspaper, the Northern Student, to have a consistent brand, cultivate interest in the student body and to have branded documents for inter-office use. This brand was created at the beginning of the cultural desaturation of printed newspapers. The Northern Student was struggling for readership, and the production team of the newspaper, in which I served and was part of, felt a re-branding and provocative awareness campaign would aid in the spark of readership.

PIPESTONE VISITOR S GUIDE An annual print publication distributed by Pipesone Publishing, Co. Inc that details in tourism highlights and destinations for locals and visitors of Pipestone. Full of vibrant photographs of Pipestone, historical information, an active calendar of events, as well as advertisements for local businesses and organizations; this publication is used by the Pipestone Chamber of Commerce to promote Pipestone, and for local establishments to hand out to visitors and prospective residents.

YOUR HOME A print publication distributed by a local non-profit organization that benefits, and is distributed to prospective residents of Pipestone. The brief of this publication detailed a communal effort to visually represent the lifestyle assets and strong community pillars that Pipestone offers prospective residents and families, with a well written narrative to aide the visuals.

BEMIJDI STATE UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT MATERIAL A print asset created for the commencement ceremonies of Bemidji State University. Shown here are the cover designs for the commencement program, as well as the grayscale display advertisements that ran in the Bemidji Pioneer newspaper.

CALUMET PLAYERS COMMUNITY THEATER ORGANIZATION The Calumet Players are a community theater organization in Pipestone, MN. They stage two straight plays and one musical per season. The objective for each season is to create promotional material that looks seamless and branded for the given season, but also to capitalize on the creative license each show presents. The three posters displayed above are not from one season, but rather three of my strongest poster designs from the past decade of creating print, promotional material for the Calumet Players and the Pipestone Performing Arts Center as well as their respective playbill covers.
