2 OLD WEST FLORIDA PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH SCHOOL CONVENTION A Message from the President... Greetings to all Pastors and Churches of the Old West Florida Primitive Baptist Association. THEME: MOVING FROM MEMBERSHIP TO DISCIPLESHIP Matthew 28:18-20 GREETINGS TO ALL PASTORS AND CHURCHES OF THE OLD WEST FLORIDA PRIMITIVE BAPTIST ASSOCIATION It is in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost that I submit this greeting. I am very excited about the 142 nd Session of the Old West Florida Primitive Baptist Church School Convention to be held June 13 th -17 th with the Pre-Opening Program on June 12 th at 7:00 p.m., at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center. At the fellowship of our Convention, we, the Leaders of the Old West Florida Church School Convention, commit ourselves to do everything possible to integrate Scripture into all of our actions; as our teaching become active in the local church and community, while we recognize that the Holy Spirit works on the hearts of each person to apply what they learn. I am also encouraging each Church to consider selecting a youth Queen or King Contestant for the Convention. The winner(s) will be crowned on the evening of the Banquet held June 16 th, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Adult tickets will be $25 and youth tickets (12 and under) are $15. Also, lunch will be provided by the Old West Florida Kitchen Committee for the week. You can purchase a Meal Ticket for the week (three meals) for $25 or purchase your lunch daily for $10. My prayer is that we will continue to have a wonderful year Experiencing the Abundance of the Lord s Blessings. I look forward to seeing you all at the 142 nd Session. Remember this is the year of Elections and I ask prayerfully that you seek God for guidance in electing your officers. To God Be the Glory. THE LITANY LEADER: O Father of life and giver of light, look with favor upon thy creatures here assembled. CONGREGATION: And grant us thy blessing; LEADER: O thou, who has led man through the ages of his existence upon earth by thy spirit: CONGREGATION: Grant us thy continued guidance: LEADER: Thou who does generate love and goodness in our hearts, and the desire for fellowship one with the other in life s living: CONGREGATION: Increase thy spirit in us. 15 INVOCATION: O eternal God and Master of all things, grant us the deep consciousness of thy presence that the spirit of Christianity may forever direct our thinking, guide and control our hearts and activities so that we may eternally be disciples of thine and render unselfish service to mankind. Most gracious Father, sometimes we who bemoan the parting of loved ones are pained by heartaches, and scorned by some as they were: sometimes, we come to mountains in our lives that are hard to climb as our loved ones did: However, we realize that we promised as they promised to keep on climbing for we are assured that you will help us to stand and have the courage to run all the way. Most merciful Father, lead us gently home so that we may join our departed loved ones in the mansion you have prepared for us all. Amen. HYMN: Servant Of God, Well Done Servant of God, well done: Rest from thy loved employ: The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Master s joy. The voice at midnight came: He started up to hear: A mortal arrow pierced his frame; He fell, but felt no fear. Soldier of Christ, well done; Praise be thy new employ: And while eternal ages runs, Rest in thy Savior s joy. CLOSING SELECTION: Shall We Gather At The River? BENEDICTION AND BLESSING: Shall we gather at the river, Where bright angel-feet have trod; With its crystal tide forever Flowing by the throne of God? Yes, we ll gather at the river, The beautiful, the beautiful river Gather with the saints at the river That flows by the throne of God. The Grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, be with the spirits of our departed saints. And now, may the peace of God which passeth all understanding keep our hearts and minds in the knowledge of God and of His Son, Jesus Christ; the blessing of God Almighty, the Father; Jesus Christ, the Son; and the Holy Ghost, the Comforter: be among us and remain with us eternally.
