WARD 4 COUNCILLOR REPORT Fridge magnets have been made by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The fridge magnets will have the numbers to call for rural water and sewer services.

3 WARD 4 COUNCILLOR REPORT Fridge magnets have been made by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The fridge magnets will have the numbers to call for rural water and sewer services. They will be going out in May or June to all the residents that require this service. The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is having a Council engagement in Janvier. There will be a Seniors/Elders supper with Mayor and Council on Wednesday, May 18 th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. I hope to see all the residents of Janvier at the engagement. Congratulations to all the youth who represented Janvier in Hockey tournaments this past season. In following face book it has been a great year. At our rural development meeting on April 26 th in Council chambers the following are the discussion topics: 1. Place making in Rural Communities 2. Road repairs in Rural Communities 3. Rural Transit Services Update 4. Rural Water and Sewer Projects update Every meeting each month we get an update on the rural water and sewer as it is a big project. I need to have the Councillor report in for the rural newsletters by April 25 th. I will update the residents on the rural development meeting in my next newsletter. All residents are welcome to come to the Rural Development meeting and listen to the discussions. The meetings are held on the 4 th Tuesday of each month starting at 3:30 or 4:00 pm depending on the amount of items on the agenda. The meetings are held in Council Chambers. The information is posted on the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo website. I was involved in the Food Bank Drive on Sunday April 3 rd. We were stationed in front of the Anzac Grocery. Thank you to all the residents who donated. Also thank you to Nexen who sponsors an employee at the food bank. This employee delivers food hampers to residents in the rural hamlets who need them. It was so great to hear this news. Mayor and Council met with federal Minister Sohi on March 31, Minister Sohi s portfolio is Infrastructure and Communities. Topics that were discussed were housing, highway 881, rural water and sewer and streetlights at entrance to hamlets. It was a very constructive meeting. 15 JOB OPPORTUNITY Job Description: WLCA (Willow Lake Community Association) and the AFCSS (Anzac Family and Community Support Society) are looking for a candidate to fill a part time, permanent, Administrative Support position. Position type/hours: A flexible part time position for approximately hrs per week, Monday through Friday with some evenings and weekends required for meetings and special events. Position Description: The successful candidate will provide administration support to both boards for the communities of Anzac and Gregoire Lake Estates. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Arrange and attend meetings to take minutes Secretary and Treasurer responsibilities for both boards Provide communication between community, RMWB and board members Act as the primary contact for both boards Create, organize and facilitate programs/events Research funding and grant opportunities Preform other related duties as required Qualifications: Positive communications and interpersonal skills required Must be able to work well with others in an office environment Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (ie: word, excel etc.) Must be highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision Medically and physically able to perform duties of position Must be able to provide your own transportation *Preference will be given to residents of Anzac and Gregoire Lake Estates* Salary: $20-30/hr based on applicant s experience Closing date: Friday, May 27, 2016 Please resume to: jcatton@telus.net For more information contact, June Catton , Darryl Woytkiw
