Six students from five colleges participated in the Spring 27 program. Colleges whose students participated were Tulane University, University of ew Orleans, Southeastern LA University, University of South Mississippi, and Xavier University. Participation in events sponsored by community groups Spoke to Rotary Club in Thibodaux Louisiana about careers in the Broadcasting industry. Establishment of an Summer 27 Internship Program - the intern program designed station's college Internship Program to assist members of the offers students an opportunity to earn community school credit while gaining experience in the field of broadcast media. Seventeen students from eleven colleges participated in the Summer 27 program. Participation in Job Fairs Provision of training to management Participation in events or programs sponsored by educational institutions Participated in the job fair hosted by the ational Association of Black Journalists at its annual convention held in ew Orleans. Hearst Television manned a table for the three days from 8/9 to 8/ with ews Directors from Hearst stations as well as Corporate ews Management personnel. Training session for all WDSU-TV Department Heads and second level Managers with Hearst General Counsel. Training focused on anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies and how to handle if situations arise.
