We will be playing games, singing songs and getting a little goofy! Everest Family Camp - June 28th - July 1st, 5:30-8:30pm A remix of our regular Vacation Bible School format, Family Camp offers a Parent Session, Kids sessions for Pre-K to 4th Grade, and Volunteer opportunities for 5th 12th. There will be something for everyone at this camp!! FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Next Friday, May 1st is First Friday and our parish day of Eucharistic Adoration. Adoration begins at 10 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and closes from 5-6 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Any questions or to sign up and commit for a specific time, please call All are invited to also attend First Friday Mass at Immaculate Conception followed by Rosary and Benediction. We are currently looking for volunteers to help make these fantastic camps happen! Registration will begin May 4th! We will gladly take books (no magazines, textbooks, or encyclopedias please). Look for more information about dropping off book donations in the May bulletins. Also, if you know any St. Helen school students, the school will hold a book collection contest May Books will be accepted at the maintenance building from 7:30-8:00 AM only. The homeroom that collects the most books will win a pizza party. IT S TIME TO MAKE THE CABBAGE ROLLS It is that time of year again! Time to make cabbage rolls for the St Helen's Festival. Ever wonder how those delicious cabbage rolls are made. For this one time only, you have a chance to learn how it is done. However, you will be sworn to secrecy. Cabbage roll cooking class will begin at 9 am on Saturday, May 2. If you cannot start at 9 am, we will have instructions any time during the day until 3. Of course there will be lots of practice in making them so you will get it just right and be an expert. Please call Tom or tebrehm@aol.com if you want to participate or you can just show up. CLEARING THE CLUTTER? It's that time of year again! As you are spring cleaning please consider donating any unused or lightly used items to St. Helen's Pick a Prize booth. We are looking for items for all ages. Examples include small toys, stuffed animals, household items, picture frames, seasonal items, sports memorabilia and goods, etc. Donations can be dropped off at the Rectory. If you have any questions please contact Sarah Rivera THE FESTIVAL BASKET BOOTH NEEDS YOUR HELP! We are currently creating baskets and would greatly appreciate any donations you are willing to give. You can create your own basket or let us do it for you. Although each basket is supposed to be worth at least $200 we will combine any size donation with others, so no donation is too small. Or maybe you are part of a group that would like to join together to make a basket. If you d like to create your own basket, we have information regarding what baskets have done well in the past. 4 FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER CREDIT UNION NEWS The St. Helen Federal Credit Union Annual Dinner and Meeting will be held Saturday, April 25 at 6:15 pm in the Smith Building. Join us for a brief State of Affairs meeting followed by a delicious meal and social hour. Tickets for the evening are now available at the Credit Union for just $10. Please visit our Facebook page at Marianist Family Vacation Retreat for more information or home Retreat Dates for 2015 June July 7 11 July CARROLL FREEDOM PLAYERS Carroll High School Freedom Players will perform the musical Annie Get Your Gun on May 1st at 8:00 p.m., May 2 nd at 8:00 p.m., and May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Written by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, the show is produced in association with the Rogers and Hammerstein Theatre Library. This musical adaptation of the life of Ohio native and legendary Sharpshooter, Annie Oakley (Jennifer Clemens) tells the story of her rise to fame in Buffalo Bill s (Fred Blackwell) Wild West Show and her tempestuous relationship with her fellow sharp shooter, Frank Butler (Peter Witt). Tickets can be purchased at the school office, online or at the door. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students and senior citizens. Children 5 and under are free. ST HELEN SCHOOL IS LOOKING FOR MEMBERS TO ADVANCE OUR STEM INITIATIVES The steering committee will provide guidance and support related to the long-term sustainability of the school STEM Initiative. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The committee will: Guide faculty to create interest among all preschool- 8th grade St Helen students in STEM disciplines, including critical thinking, handson learning, problem-based approaches and technology. Create a network that connects educators, students, existing professionals in the area, funders and businesses to introduce, measure and sustain effective STEM teaching and learning through collaboration and resource-sharing.
