Friday, June 12 3:00 p.m. King Kamehameha Statue Lei Draping Ceremony please join us for this exciting annual event as the statue of Kamehameha 1 is draped with leis sewn by the ladies of Ahahui Kaahumanu. Public donations of plumeria flowers and leis are appreciated and encouraged and may be dropped at the tent site fronting the Kekuanaoa builing on King Street from 8:00 a.m. in the morning. 3 Danny Carvalho, the Na Hoku Hanohano and Grammy Nominated singer, songwriter and slack key artist will entertain from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kawika Paperny and dancers will also do the hula. We are honoring Auntie Gladys Nakoa and Auntie Liz Yangco as our new Honorary Members and presenting Scholarships to three recipients. It is an all you can eat Lunch Menu: Kalua Pig, Chicken Long Rice, Salmon, Poke, Opihi, Squid Luau, Poi and Rice, Haupia, Sweet Potato, Cakes, Fresh Fruits, Fruit Punch and Water.
