June 19th: Jared Motzenbecher from MFS will discuss Market Insights June 26 th : Club Assembly July 3 rd : Happy 4 th of July! No meeting but please join the parade on Wednesday REMEMBER THE DATE Officer Instillation dinner will be on Friday June 22 nd from 6PM 9PM. We will be a Fleming s again this year. The cost will be $50 per person with a CASH bar. (SEE BULLETIN FOR FULL MENU) Remember to contact Ruth to volunteer to work the elections this year. We need 9 volunteers for August 28 th and the November Election. There are 7 different orientation dates. Doing your duty for the country while earning $$ for our Club! Ruth has started the process of all of us getting Rotary Shirts. More details to follow. Under our current dues you have different fees options, please consider a donation of $35 for Polio Plus. Paul Harris Update: we are still waiting for the districts final approval. We will potentially be recognizing the 6 new members with an initial Paul Harris recognition during the club assembly if not sooner.

Funds are accumulated quarterly and transferred to our Bank Of America Account directly. Thanks go to Amanda Durham our new bookkeeper for setting our club up with a direct link for these donations! We are always recruiting! We are open for business for qualified new members! Please invite new members to help build our Club! PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR WEBSITE. YOU WILL SEE THE NEW NEW MEMBERS KIT THERE. THANKS GOES TO DARREL YOUNG, HARIS DOMOND, AND GERRY DAHLE. NEW MEMBERS? We have had several individuals that are interested in being members, they need to be working on the application process so that they can be submitted. If you have been working with any new members and they have attended our meetings 2 or 3 times, please encourage them to get their applications turned in. Please work with them and help them get the applications turned in. Remember to bring tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, soap and diapers for the battered women s shelter. They also appreciate crayons and other activities. Jan will make a run with what we collect every other week! Thanks Jan! Jan wanted to say thank you to everyone that has brought in items for these women that need help during a very difficult time in their lived. Giving a little something makes their lives a little better. If you travel, remember to bring in the soaps and shampoos that you don t use in your room you paid for them- let them help one of these young mothers! IF YOU HAVE DONE ANY VOLUNTEERING RECORD YOUR HOURS WHEN YOU CHECK INTO OUR MEETING. No Meeting on 3 rd of July however Naples Bay Rotary will be in the parade, Wednesday July , which will start moving at 10:00 am that day. As usual, we'll decorate our "float" at Joel Miller's place, probably starting around 8:00 am. We'll leave Joel's around 9:00-9:15 am, and probably be positioned near St Ann's Church on south 3rd street around 9:30 in preparation for the 10:00 am parade starting.

4 June 5, 2018 On June 5 th we heard from James Chandler who spoke to us about the Constitutional Revision Commission (CRC). What is the CRC? The constitution Revision Commission process was created when Florida overhauled its state constitution in It can submit proposed constitutional amendments directly to the voters. Now, every 20 years, the Florida constitution requires the convening of a CRC to review the entire constitution and propose changes to voters. Thirty Seven people are appointed to review and recommend changes. Fifteen are appointed by the Governor, nine are appointed by Florida Senate President, nine are appointed by Florida House Speaker, three are appointed by Florida Chief Justice and the Florida s Attorney is an automatic member. During the first year, the CRC meets to hold public hearings, review the constitution and propose amendments. INTERESTING FACT: ONLY 1 IN 10 FLORIDIANS CAN CORRECTLY IDENTIFY THIS PROCESS. During the past two constitution revision commissions, proposed amendments addressed firearms purchases, education, basic rights, election processes, and much more.

5 Why does the Florida Constitution matter, anyway? Think of the Florida Constitution as your contract with the government. Just as with any other contract, you would not want the terms changed without your knowledge or consent. Consider an employment contract, for example. This type of contract specifies your working conditions, benefits and allowable time off, as well as the hours you are expected to work and your job duties. If that contract is changed, it could significantly impact your job and your life. Similarly, your rights and the duties of your government could have been impacted by the CRC. That s why it was so important that you closely followed the constitution revision process. For additional information you can visit the website:
