1 JOB TITL: Premises Officer Level 1 GRA/SALARY: Grade 2 Scale 7-10 NW COLLG LICSTR Learning and Sports Village PRMISS OFFICR JOB SCRIPTION HOURS: RSPONSIBL TO: JOB PURPOS: Major Objectives: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year The hours of duty will be as agreed with the Principal and will require working a shift pattern including weekend working. The basic hours of duty may be varied from time to time to meet the needs of the school. The nature of the post warrants the occupant being on call as required. Assistant state Manager To undertake responsibility for the maintenance, security, health and safety and general administration of the College site, its grounds, buildings, facilities and equipment ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. These will include, as appropriate, those that reflect key corporate priorities, for example, Cultural iversity, Social Justice, nvironmental Quality, conomic Prosperity and Safeguarding 1. To maintain and implement adequate security measures and procedures for the site buildings and facilities. 2. To ensure that the necessary Legislative and Health & Safety requirements are met. 3. To implement and promote the College s and Leicester City council s policies and procedures relating to all areas of employment and service delivery. 4. To ensure the effective implementation of repairs, maintenance and cleaning programmes. 5. To ensure services are provided in a cost-effective, timely and supportive manner. 6. To implement, follow and promote energy conservation measures within the school. 7. To assist customers with the use of the facilities and the activities and to encourage maximum use of the site. 8. To be customer-orientated and achieve good customer relations. 9. To implement qual Opportunities policies and practices in respect of employment and service delivery and to ensure an environment free of harassment and discrimination. Summary of Job Tasks: The tasks listed are, generally, only those taking at least 10% of the post holder s time. 1. Assesses and keeps the site, buildings, facilities and grounds to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. 2. eals with any emergency situations, e.g. burst pipes, roof falling in, etc. 3. Assist with regular security checks. 4. Works with external contractors when on site. 5. Assists cleaners in their tasks. 6. Site and Grounds are kept tidy. 7. Provides high quality customer service to all external customers.
2 8. Repairs equipment. 9. Locks/unlocks school buildings and areas. 10. Completes all records, required forms and returns accurately and on time. 11. Refills and replaces consumables. 12. Assist and participate in the organisation and movement of furniture within the building. 13. Collect and assemble waste for collection (Regular and Recycling). Other skills Able to use own initiative, meet deadlines and make decisions in emergencies and ability to prioritise and deal with multiple on-going work tasks Must be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative Ability to provide a customer facing services emonstrate the ability to assist customers with their enquiries and complaints Ability to deal with other staff and students in a polite and courteous manner Hold a full UK driving licence for minibus driving (training will be provided). Other conditions Including any hazardous or environmentally adverse conditions Willing & able to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds & levels Willing & able to work outside normal hours, and be on call for emergencies Willing & able to attend training courses & obtain relevant certificates for the role Willing & able to operate hand tools, cleaning machinery, etc. & carry small loads Must satisfy relevant pre-employment checks This post will involve contact with vulnerable groups (children, young people and/or adults) and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to an nhanced isclosure Barring Scheme (BS) isclosure check. This exemption means that applicants for this post are required to declare all criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands and bind-overs both spent and unspent in their application, regardless of the passage of time.

To maintain the security of college premises by securing entrances/exits as appropriate and reporting potential security breaches. To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person. eals with staff and students. Contact with external suppliers and contractors. Regular contact with external customers and community. Completing reports in a timely manner. Follow basic instructions. Assesses & keeps the site, buildings & facilities to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. eals with any emergency situations, e.g. burst pipes, roof falling in, etc. Assists other premises officers, grounds staff in their tasks. Reports incidents or situations which may lead to closure of all/part of the School/College. Assists cleaners in their tasks. All record keeping is up to date. To comply with health & safety/security procedures. Appropriate communication with others no complaints. All information on site and equipment are communicated to relevant parties. Reports provided on time and/ or when required. Site and premises maintained to high standard and always fit for purpose. All areas for repair and maintenance are fit for purpose. Reporting incidents and situations immediately.
