1 Report on the activities conducted and recognitions received by 7 Kerala Girls Battalion NCC, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur during the period - 01 June 2015 to 26 January June Kerala CM Jana Samparka Paripadi Our cadets were called by the Thrissur District Collector to participate as volunteers in the Chief Minister s Mass Contact Programme. They rendered their service to the public very enthusiastically which was appreciated by one and all. Page 1 of 29

6 5. 15 August 2015 Independence Day celebrations in the college Independence Day celebrations were held in Sree Kerala Varma College. The principal hoisted the tricolour and distributed sweets on the occasion. Page 6 of 29

14 December 2015 Training Programme on Women Self Defence The Kerala Police Department organized a one day training programme on women self defence. Our cadets were invited to be a part of this programme. The primary aim of this training was to empower women to predict, identify and avoid violence and as a last resort to be able to guard oneself physically against the most common types of attacks and assaults one may potentially have to face. 18 December 2015 Inauguration of collection for Armed Forces Flag Day at the Thrissur Collectorate Our cadets participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Armed Forces Flag Day at the Thrissur Collectorate. Cadets of SKV College welcoming the Guests of Honour including The Thrissur District Collector, Mayor of The Thrissur Corporation and other dignitaries by handing over a bouquet of flowers. 21 January 2016 A visit to Punarjani The cadets visited an de-addiction and rehabilitation centre named Punarjani situated in Poomala, Thrissur. Dr. Johns K Mangalam (Professor, Department of Philosophy, Sree Kerala Varma College), is the Managing Trustee. 23 January 2016 Observance of Army Day On the occasion of Army day, which is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, the cadets visited the Central Prison, Viyyur, Thrissur. The Superintendent of the Central Prison, Mr. Santosh interacted with the cadets. Page 23 of 29

24 January 2016 Commemoration of Lt Col Niranjan Kumar The cadets organized a ceremony in honor of the memory of Late Lt Col Niranjan Kumar. The Chief Guest was Mrs. Jalaja Vishwanathan, W/o Late Lt. Col. R. Vishwanathan (VrC). As a part of this ceremony a notebook donation programme was also conducted by the cadets wherein they distributed several notebooks to the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Poonkunnam, Thrissur. 28 January Republic Day The cadets of Sree Kerala Varma College who represented the 7 Kerala Girls Bn. NCC, won the first prize in the Republic Day Ceremonial Parade held in the morning of 26 January The march past was held at Thekkinkadu Maidan in the heart of the city. Page 28 of 29
