1 With nearly 30 student members, IEEE ATRI SB initiated the computer society student chapter at the ATRI campus. In a world where software is pervasive, the need for skilled, competent, disciplined, innovative software professionals is greater than ever. IEEE ATRI Computer Society Student Chapter caters to bridge the gap between theory and application by organizing conferences, guest lectures, student seminars, workshops, events on a very routine basis where in an individual finds it very useful once he/she steps into reality. It was presided by Dr. Prabhu G Benakop (Director, ATRI), Dr. Gunasekhar Reddy (Membership Development Chair, IEEE Hyderabad Section) and Mr. B. Rakesh (Chapter Advisor) The mission of this chapter is to produce a perfect Computer Science individual through IEEE by disseminating knowledge, encouraging ideas, respecting values, fostering professionalism, providing resources and recognizing excellence. All the students of CSE and IT witnessed the event. More than 200 students attended the ceremony. Soon after the inaugural, the chief guest of the event Mr. Aditya Rao addressed the gathering.

The initiative of starting Computer Society Student Chapter was appreciated. He said forming the Chapter is one aspect and continuing it is the next bigger task. He added that once the chapter is formed people will be very enthusiastic to do events but eventually the energy levels will come down drastically over a period of time hence, he suggested the students to continue this spirit and spread it to the next set of students who are taking charge of the student chapter. Later, he brought to light the benefits of IEEE Computer Society and its membership details. He concluded his talk by stressing the need for publishing more papers in international journals by the students and to utilize all the IEEE ATRI Computer Society Student Chapter Page 3

He congratulated all the members for starting CS chapter in the college. He highlighted the importance of IEEE and how it helps an individual in generating enough leadership qualities. He said many colleges are being started every year wherein standards are not being maintained properly. The initiation of IEEE student chapters will not only help in maintaining standards but also help an individual to improve his professional skills. He appreciated the responsibility taken up by students in forming the chapter and praised the students for being dynamic. He also thanked Mr. Aditya Rao for extending help for the formation of the chapter and to the students in every possible way. Thereafter, he gave a brief history of how IEEE ATRI Student Branch was formed and the events that were conducted under IEEE. He concluded his speech by laying emphasis upon students to utilize the resources provided by IEEE i.e. the magazines, journals and papers and increase their knowledge. The session ended with the distribution of mementos to the dignitaries followed by vote of thanks by Mr. Sai Krishna Parasar. Mr. B. The primary goal of this student chapter is to help the students of Computer Science in every field.
