5 AFCS- Family Advocacy Prevention/Education WHAT WE KNOW: Majority of Non-Accidental Deaths and Domestic Violence for JBLM Soldiers/Family Members are rooted in poor social/relationship skills. AFCS-FAP classes are relationship driven using evidence based material from BIG ARMY programs by established authors. HOW WE TEACH: Surveys, needs assessments and soldier/commander feedback Classes are tailored to meet the needs of the military community. This year we are offering five new classes that address all overall drive for healthy/positive relationships in addition to those already available. WHAT WE TEACH: Parents, singles, and couples Soldiers and family members Information on healthy lifestyles, positive communication Realistic parenting HOW WE DELIVER: Soldier Annual Training Commander/First Sergeant Training All classes available at unit level Classes available through checkappointments. 7 AER Campaign For 75 Years, Army Emergency Relief has contributed to Mission Readiness and provided a safety valve for unforeseen financial crisis that exceeds a Soldier s ability to make ends meet. At JBLM we have provided $2,481,254 in assistance to 1739 individuals in 2016 Goal to promote AER Awareness, 100% contact. Appoint AER unit representative for each company. 33 Lewis Community Spouses Club LCSC The Lewis Community Spouse Club is a non-profit, all ranks, spouses group at Fort Lewis. We are dedicated to giving back to Soldiers and their families. Membership is open to all spouses of Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard and retired personnel of the Armed Forces.
