20 Security Entry and Associates must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance Interim Secret Clearance required prior to onboarding Typically a six to eight week process depending on the member s EQIP, Fingerprint results and JPAS history Fingerprint results now taking up to two weeks for turnaround from FBI Loss of Jurisdiction can be a hurdle 20

21 Best Practices If possible, execute your hiring early in the FY Communicate turnover of key personnel (Command POC/Hiring Manager) Pathways Intern conversion: 640/320 hours of experience must be completed while the member is in your program, not during the transition period (90 day) Mandatory Interviews Onboarding process requires E-Verify Submission of complete and readable transcripts Up to date resumes with: Month/Year of beginning and end of past employment Full address of former and current employer(s) Completed event request forms (i.e. accurate locations) Include DD-214 (Member 4 Copy) for Vets 21
