Thank you for your interest in Warwick Yacht and Country Club, Inc. (WYCC). WYCC was formed in 1958 by visionary yachtsmen looking for ways to enjoy each other s company and to share their enthusiasm for boating. Since then, the Club has developed a dining and recreational operation that embraces an active lifestyle within the community. Prospective Member Information begins on the next page and provides information regarding completion and processing of the Membership Application. Please note: Applicant s membership will not be considered until the completed application, including all fees, has been received in full. Fees will be returned if Membership is not approved. There is a $25 non-refundable processing fee. We make every effort to process Membership Applications in a timely manner. During this time applicants may only use the Club facilities as a guest of a member.

We hope you sail through the application process and find yourself enjoying the camaraderie of membership. As you fill out the Membership Application, some questions may arise. We hope this will help clarify matters for you. Classes of membership are as follows: Full Resident Member, Class A. Such member shall consist of a person who is duly elected to membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established and who is an owner of two shares of the capital stock of the corporation. This class has no geographical area of limitation. Under this class, both husband and wife of a married couple are equally Class A members, and each may be issued a share of stock. Single Member with Dependents, Class D. Such membership shall consist of a single (one) member with dependents who is duly elected to membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established and who is an owner of one share of the capital stock of the corporation. This class has no geographical area of limitation. Military Member, Class F. Such member shall consist of a person who is duly elected to membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established and who is a member of the Armed Forces and on active duty in Virginia. Such person shall not be required to own stock. Junior Family Membership, Class I. Such membership shall consist of person(s) age holding two shares of stock, who is duly elected to the membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established. This class has no geographical area of limitation. Junior Membership, Class J. Such membership shall consist of a person (one) age 21-35, holding one share of stock, without dependents who is duly elected to the membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established. This class has no geographical area of limitation. Single Member, Class S. Such member shall consist of a person (one) who is duly elected to membership by the Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws established and who is unmarried without dependents. Such person shall own one share of stock.

3 Special Membership, Class Z. Such member shall consist of a person who is offered membership on a special basis and who has the same privileges as a regular Class member but cannot vote, hold office or chair a committee. The terms and conditions of each Special Membership shall be approved by the Board of Directors. Current Class Z Memberships: Out of Area Membership: For non-residents living 50+ miles from the Club that are interested in membership and use of Club facilities and reciprocity when living in Newport News. When living in Newport News, member is moved to appropriate Class Membership and dues structure. Such person(s) shall be required to own stock. Monthly Dues: $50 or Annual Dues: $600; No Monthly Food & Beverage Minimum. We have asked for some information about you. Full Name, Employer and Social Security Number information is needed for the person(s) in whose name the membership will be held. We would like you to know that every attempt is made to keep your personal information private. Before your application is submitted to the Membership Committee your social security number is removed. WYCC will obtain a credit report and background check as part of your application. Stock Fees: $100 per share. Single Memberships (with or without dependents) require the purchase of one share of stock. Married/Couple Memberships (with or without dependents) require the purchase of two shares of stock. Initiation Fee: $ Re-instatement Fee: $150. Fee for those that own stock in Warwick Yacht & Country Club and have been a prior Class Member. Member Sponsors: Two members in good standing. If you are new to the area please contact the General Manager. Personal Reference/Emergency Contact: Who to contact in case of emergency. Area(s) of Interest: Finally you will get to the fun part: WYCC has a small staff for administrative needs, dining amenities and seasonal recreational activities. Traditionally, all other aspects of the Club are supported by member volunteers. We encourage and expect our members to get involved. Upon approval of your application you will receive a Welcome Kit from the New Member & Marketing Committee. The procedures to process your application are as follows: First, the completed application, along with a $25 processing fee, stock fee/reinstatement fee/summer membership fee, and signatures from two member sponsors must be presented to the Club office for processing. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Per Club Bylaws your completed application will be forwarded to the Secretary and your names will be posted on the Club Bulletin Board for a minimum of (7) days. A credit report and background check will be obtained by the Membership Committee designee and your application will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval. You will then be informed of the results. You will be able to use the Club facilities as a member as soon as the above approvals have been met. During the application process you may only use the Club facilities as a guest of a member. WYCC has a goal to process and finalize the approvals within 2 to 3 weeks.
