Classroom topics include torque converter operation, power flows, clutches, retarder operation, hydraulic and electric control systems, and preventive maintenance. Hands-on exercises cover disassembly and reassembly of a transmission.upon course completion, technicians will have an applicable understanding of each of the transmission systems which will enable service, diagnosis, and troubleshooting skill development. Upon completion of web-based training requirements, notification for registration will be sent to the Training Center and technician by E-Learn. This 4th Generation class covers general construction, theory, operation, preventive maintenance, removal/installation, adaptation hardware checks, and in-chassis repairs. Other areas include gear pack and power flow operation, electronic control theory and vehicle interface, hydraulics operation and Allison DOC diagnostics and troubleshooting. Allison Diagnostic Optimized Connection (formerly ATDT) TC-ALL0303 The Allison DOC for PC (Diagnostic Optimized Connection) is the essential tool for use with both MD/HD products lines and the 1000/2000/2400 Series transmission. This tool represents the evolution of the ATDT Versions 1.0 and 1.1. This program provides an understanding of the operations, specific electronic input/output functions and circuitry, mandatory vehicle interface connections and reprogramming selected parameters. Specifics of Allison DOC include navigating through the tool s computer screens, using the demo mode, graphics monitor, strip chart options, and accessing specific troubleshooting manual pages within the tool. Objectives: Understand specific electronic input/output functions and circuitry; examine capabilities of the Allison DOCTM for PC; learn to navigate graphic monitor and strip chart options. Course Length: 3 Days Allison AED Training for Transit Authorities TC-ALL1106 This is a 3-day instructor-led training program. Course topics provide reinforcement and practical application of WBT modules and, as a group, attendees learn to Troubleshoot and Maintain an Energy Storage System in a lab environment. Students will come to understand electronic control and vehicle interface, troubleshooting, DOC software, and maintenance. Students disassemble live engines and study is general construction and operation principles, tune-up, and troubleshooting. Components are reassembled and the engine is tuned and checked for satisfactory performance. With a lecture focused on electronic components, wiring, basic electricity, and functions of the systems. Topics: Service requirements; disassembly procedures; part qualification procedures; special precision tools for inspection; reassembly and testing; engine electronic control system; servicing MBE Electronic systems; troubleshooting procedures using DDC diagnostic reader and link. DDC MBE OM904 /MB904 LA Engines TC-DDC0095 Course covers troubleshooting of the fuel and air system and troubleshooting on the ECM electronic controls along with sensor operation and diagnostics. Cylinder diagnostics are demonstrated on a live running engine, and a study of the engine wiring harness performed using wire diagrams and a multi meter. Course Length: 3 Days DD 15 Engine and Electronics Familiarization TC-DDC0101 Course includes handout material including a Power Point presentation to cover the DD15 engine major systems (lube, coolant, air, and fuel systems). Includes wiring placemat for engine sensor wiring. Topics: Engine Systems overview; engine tune-up and injector change-out; DDEC VI familiarization; fuel system fundamentals; fundamentals of exhaust after-treatment; DDDL Diagnostic Tool Familiarization. DDC MBE On-Highway Electronics TC-DDC0302 In both classroom lectures and practical hands-on exercises, students work with operational engines in a study of general operation and troubleshooting. After all components are reassembled, the engine is tuned and tested for optimum performance. Course Length: 4 days DEUTZ - Tier 4 Series 2.9 / 3.6 TC-DEU0056 This training, for the Tier 4 Series 2.9 & 3.6 engines, is provided by the Stewart & Stevenson Training Center. Work clothes and safety shoes are required for attendance. Lunch is provided during the training. Program includes both classroom lectures and practical hands-on exercises. 7 Spring 2017 (Continued) DEUTZ EMR / EMRII / EMRIII System Technology TC-DEU2010 The Engine Electronic Service Training school covers the EMR / EMRII / EMRIII electronic systems used on various DEUTZ engines in theory and practice. In the theoretical session all control, governing and monitoring systems will be introduced. In the practical session the use of the Note Book (PC) connected to Electronic Engine Governing (EMR) systems will be exercised. Objectives: Construction and function of components and electronic modules; main differences of the electronic governors (analog / digital); electronic control units, sensor, governor, fuel injection pumps; combination of different systems (EMR-EMS); installation procedures and recommendations.; Diagnostic tool requirement (PC, SERDIA,INTERFACE) software SERDIA; Connection of PC and Interface for diagnosis.; Setting parameters and calibrations, analyzing flashing failure codes.; Connecting to EMR II and EMRIII engine simulator; Installation of software.; Changing parameter values and correcting electronic performance problems. DEUTZ-2.9/3.6 T-4 CC2 TC-DEU2012 This class provides a basic understanding of the operation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the DEUTZ 2.9/3.6 T-4 Engines. Topics covered: Basic design of the engine Maintenance requirements Use of the diagnostic software Read & interpret fault codes EMD Series 645 and 710G Technical TC-EMD2002 Course includes a study of all major engine components, assemblies, systems, and technical data limits required to operate and maintain an EMD engine in a power, marine and industrial application. The performance-based program incorporates informative oral presentations and demonstrations on an EMD diesel engine. Hands-on activities and interactive discussions give the student a practical background in the basic repair, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the EMD engine. Objectives: Learn periodic maintenance procedures; use of troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures; operate and maintain the EMD engine. EMD 645 and 710 Engine Practical TC-EMD2009 This course provides both in-depth study and hands-on experience in tasks such as, engine timing, Tune-up and accessory gear train build-up. The EMD Engine Practical Course also covers installation, inspection, and qualification of major components Such as power assembly and Turbo Charger. Emphasis is on actual performance of selected task activities in a laboratory-training environment. Advanced troubleshooting utilizing EMDEC (Electromotive Diesel Electronic Control) is cover in this course. Ample technical information, combined with oral presentations, gives the student a solid background in advanced maintenance procedures and repairs. Objectives: Understand disassembly procedures; learn parts qualification procedures; use of special precision tools for inspection; understand diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures utilizing EMDEC. To receive the full benefit of this class, we recommend combining with EMD Engine Technical Series. 7

Maintenance and diagnostic procedures of the electrical, air, fuel, lube and cooling systems are covered. Objectives: Learn basic construction and operational knowledge; Engine instrumentation; Learn basic diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting; Learn operational and maintenance requirements. Course Length: 2 Days MTU S4000 C/I Customer Maintenance Level 1 TC-MTU0003 This Customer Maintenance Level 1 course provides the student a basic understanding of the engine principles, operation, and construction. Maintenance and diagnostic procedures of the electrical, air, fuel, lube and cooling systems are covered. Objectives: Learn basic construction and operational knowledge; Engine instrumentation; Learn basic diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting; Learn operational and maintenance requirements. Course Length: 2 Days MTU (DD) S60 M1 / C/I +3 TC-MTU0006 Program includes both classroom lectures and practical hands-on exercises. Students disassemble operational engines in a study of general construction and operation principles, including the fuel, air, lube, cooling systems, fuel control devices, overhaul procedures, tune-up, and troubleshooting. After all components are reassembled, the engine is tuned and tested for optimum performance. Students disassemble engines and an in-depth study is made of the following: general construction and operation principles; fuel, air, lube and cooling systems; governors and other fuel control devices; overhaul procedures; tune-up and troubleshooting. After all components are reassembled, the engine is tuned and checked out for satisfactory performance. Objective: Enable service personnel to troubleshoot and diagnose engine problems; disassemble and reassemble engines correctly; repair and overhaul engine components and perform preventative maintenance and tune-ups. Course Length: 15 Days; Prerequisites: Previous overhaul class MTU DD Series 60 Engine Maintenance, Troubleshooting / Electronics / Off Highway TC-MTU0050 This course is designed to familiarize the technician with the maintenance, troubleshooting and electronics of the Series 60 diesel engine. An overview of the S60 engine system to be discussed will include lubrication, water cooling, fuel and air intake systems as well as a basic engine governor operation (DDEC) to familiarize technicians with the unit. Included in the course is a study of all major engine components, assemblies, systems and technical data limits required to operate and maintain the S60 engine in a power industrial application. The performance-based program incorporates informative oral presentations and demonstrations on a S60 diesel engine. Hands-on activities and interactive discussions give the student a practical background in the basic repair, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the S60 diesel engine. Topics: Familiarize technicians with the fuel, Lube oil, cooling air and electrical systems; Learn failure analysis techniques; Enable the technician to use advanced troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures; Perform part identification, inspection and qualification of components; Understand the electronics and governor of the engine. SCR for MTU / OM Engines TC-MTU0052 Program includes both classroom lectures and practical hands-on exercises. Students work with an operational SCR in a study of general operation and troubleshooting. Course lecture is focused on electronic components, wiring, and functions of the systems.
