3 Letter from the Leadership Dear Friend Thank you for making 2014 a huge success! Your investment allowed us to provide ACC students, staff and programs with over a quarter of a million dollars in support in 2014! ACC Foundation scholarship recipients proved to be a wise investment with their average GPA a These students are working hard to complete their degrees or transfer to a four year institution. Many of them could not have done so well without you. Thank you. As we gear up to celebrate ACC s 50th Anniversary in 2015, let us remind you of why the ACC Foundation was established shortly after the College was formed: Our Goals (Why We Exist): To provide opportunities for individuals to improve their lives through education To directly impact the economic development of our community by providing an educated workforce Our Funding Priorities (What We Are Doing): To increase our role in funding scholarships for students To support the financial viability of ACC Your Investment (How We Can Do It): Provides Scholarships to ACC students Provides Faculty and Staff Mini Grants for Innovation Funds New Technology and Equipment Provides Programs and Tutoring It takes a community to empower a new generation of learners; to build a workforce and to strengthen our economy. When you invest in the ACC Foundation, you are MOVING MOUNTAINS. Again, thank you. 6 Arapahoe Community College Foundation 2014 A year in reflection, and Interior Design student Ashley Lawhead models the ACC team s first-place design at the annual Prét-A-Porter competition (Sept at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver). 2 Nursing program students participate in simulation training. 3 The Eighth Annual Scholarship Recipient Luncheon held in May of From left to right: ACC Foundation Board Chair, Kevin Wong - ACC Foundation Executive Director, Courtney Loehfelm - Colorado Senator and ACC Foundation Promoting the Power of Education recipient, Mike Johnston - ACC President, Diana Doyle. 4 Terri Scrima s Public Speaking Class takes a break for a fun picture together. 5 Arapahoe Community College swept the 2013 SkillsUSA Automotive Technician competition at the college level the second year in a row. The finalists this year were Shane Sims, taking first place, Brian Hall, second, and Dan Gilbreath, finishing third. 6 ACC Foundation 2013 Grapes to Grads Wine Tasting and Silent Auction held at Mike Ward Infiniti in Highlands Ranch with over 200 people in attendance. 7 ACC Graduates celebrate their accomplishment together at the 2014 Commencement Ceremony. 8 The line for the 2013 Affordable Arts Festival held in August.
