In 1921 in the Wiadomości Techniczne newspaper Appeal to the Authorities to establish Poznań University of Technology appeared. The document included the reasons for creation such type of school. Established in 1919, Higher State School of Mechanical Engineering was renamed Higher State School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and in 1930 the Faculty of Electrical Engineering began functioning. In 1937 the Ministry of Education formally agreed to establish Poznań University of Technology, but the beginning of World War II disturbed the plans.
