2 What is Tempus? Tempus is the European Union s programme which supports the modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region, mainly through university cooperation projects. Tempus finances three types of Actions: Joint Projects Structural Measures Accompanying Measures

4 Tempus in Ukraine Ukraine joined TEMPUS on 29 April 1993 At that period the program focused on: improvements of university governance and management upgrading old curricula and developing new course and programs professional development of teachers, especially in the such disciplines as economics, foreign languages, social science, European studies and law

5 Tempus in Ukraine More than 300 projects have been financed in Ukraine between 1994 and 2013, including about 166 Joint Projects, 40 Structural Measures, 100 Individual Mobility Grants.

6 Tempus in Ukraine In 2013 Ukraine celebrated the 20th anniversary with Tempus. More than 85 million funds invested by EU to Ukraine for 20 years of Tempus Programme implementation in Ukraine.
