7 The spacious Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) has two operating rooms with capacity for three. An operating room time system lets physicians know where their patient is in their care path. 18 Validation National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has awarded its highest accreditation status of Excellent, effective through August 2013, to Kaiser Permanente for service and clinical quality that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. The "NCQA Health Insurance Plan Rankings Private" rates Kaiser Permanente health plans among the nation's best. In the national commercial category, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States ranked 15 out of 474 plans, improving our ranking by 18 places since the previous year. For Medicare plans, Kaiser Permanente ranks 12th out of 395 plans and is the highest rated plan in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. J.D. Power and Associates NCQA and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) developed the Diabetes Recognition Program. Out of 427 physicians recognized in the entire states of Maryland and Virginia, plus the District of Columbia, 137 were Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C., physicians (as of 2/8/12).
