Pediatric Emergency Medical Services Conference January Aurora, CO (EMS credit) This is the largest pediatric EMS conference in the region and is designed for EMS providers and others that care for children in an emergent setting. As a certified EMS Training Group, Children s Hospital Colorado offers this conference to address a variety of pediatric urgent and emergency care issues and conditions. FEBRUARY 4th Annual Christopher Ward Neuroscience Nursing Conference February 2 Aurora, CO (CNE credit) This conference is specifically for nurses and other interested healthcare professionals that care for children with conditions affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system. AUGUST 4th Annual Clinical Research Symposium August 17 Aurora, CO (CME and CNE credit) The Research Symposium is designed to build a hospital-wide research community and to educate and engage those involved in research including investigators, junior investigators, investigators in training, clinical research nurses, research coordinators, research assistants and other interested staff. Attendees will share the resources provided by the Research Institute and its Partners to assist Investigator Teams in the execution of research protocols. SEPTEMBER 2nd Annual Pediatric Echocardiography Review September 7-9 Aurora, CO (CME credit) The focus of this review will be on how to image a neonate or pediatric patient in emergency situations. The segmental approach to congenital heart disease, tips and tricks for imaging the pediatric population, a review of common and unique pathologies and supervised hands-on scanning of pediatric patients by attendees will be offered. Colorado Children s Immunization Coalition (CCIC) CDC s Pink Book Course: Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases September Aurora, CO Faculty from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention s (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases will present a live, comprehensive review of immunization principles, as well as vaccinepreventable diseases and the recommended vaccines to prevent them. The three courses will feature the most up-to-date immunization information from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The courses are designed for anyone seeking the most comprehensive and current knowledge of immunization, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, immunization providers, program managers, and nursing and medical students. OCTOBER Preparation Course for the Pediatric Critical Care RN Certification Exam October 4-5 Aurora, CO (CNE credit) This course covers a broad area of practice, based on the Synergy Model, and is recommended for nurses practicing in pediatrics, pediatric intensive care and pediatric emergency care who desire to take the Pediatric CCRN examination offered by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). All materials and information required for participants to register and complete the examination will be provided, including test-taking strategies and a study guide with practice questions. Pediatric 3D Echocardiography 2018: Beyond Pretty Pictures October 5-6 Aurora, CO (CME credit) This workshop will provide a detailed review of the clinical applications of 3D echo in the evaluation of pediatric congenital and acquired heart disease.
