ProMedica Master Planning and Functional Programming 240,000 SF BAY PARK HOSPITAL The ProMedica System is a major integrated healthcare delivery system located in Northern Ohio and Southern Michigan. The Bay Park facility is located in Oregon, OH.HFR was engaged by PBH to conduct a MP update, review select departmental areas including Emergency, Imaging, OP Surgery, Endoscopy and ICU in order to determine future space needs, functional expectations and process improvements relating the existing assets. Members of the Noveen Engineering staff (previously EEI) served as energy and infrastructure advisors to the team. In addition, HFR assisted in programming the functional areas of a phase 2 medical/professional office building, testing site design features and providing master zoning and budgetary guidance for future Board consideration. The study was well recieved by the Board of Directors and Senior Staff, served as a budget tool and included design review and critiue of the ICU project expansion that has been completed at this time. 2 Maury Regional Medical Center Renovation 19,490 SF Columbia, TN MAURY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER The Cancer Center at Columbia Mall is part of a total renovation of a vacated retail tenant space in a commercial mall. Maury Regional Medical Center developed this space into three areas including an oncology suite, physicians office, and pharmacy. The oncology center provides space for 30+ infusion bays plus registration and waiting. The physicians office has space for four doctor pods. The pharmacy and resource center is available to serve the oncology patient s needs.

MCMC, Dr. Bill Hamilton Master Planning N/A The Dalles, OR MID-COLUMBIA MEDICAL CENTER MASTER PLAN Located in Dalles, Oregon, Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) provides acute care services in eastern Oregon. HFR Design was selected to complete a partial master plan for the hospital. By utilizing trends in healthcare technology, our team was able to develop an IT/Systems master plan in conjunction with Oregon Health & Science University (OSHU) which addresses improvements in functionality. The 2014 FGI guidelines for Patient Handling and Movement Systems (PHAMA) were utilized in this plan. Also included in this master plan is an Emergency Services program that expands current Services to include air flight and helicopter transport. Our master planning team was able to provide an innovative master plan that increased efficiency, sustainability, and cost/benefit to the client. In 2016, HFR was selected to move forward with the a/e/c phases of this project. 4 Southern Regional Medical Center Campus Master Planning 25,000 SF SOUTHERN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HFR prepared an overall assessment of wayfinding. In addition, from staff interviews, we determined SRMC needed a more integrated Emergent/ Urgent model from a management and staffing perspective which provided seamless flow between ESI level treatment zones. It was clear the Ambulatory Care Clinic (ACC) could be a more independent unit with a separate, distinct zone with dedicated staffing, Our suggestion was to explore an integrated configuration of nursing support as opposed to the initial option which was a more linear approach. This option provided a more flexible use of the beds between the two areas. We also repositioned the triage function more centrally to the Emergent/ Urgent Care unit model versus the ACC model. Riverdale, GA

Reading Health System Facility Master Plan Hospital, Medical Center including 45 Medical Groups West Reading, PA THE READING HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER Campus Master Plan and Functional Program for TRHMC/TRHMG Design Services for Women s Clinic and Satellite OP Services The Regional Plan and facility master plan (MP) conducted for the Reading System was one of the first comprehensive studies conducted by HFR involving both satellite primary care clinics, medical/professional space and acute care hospital programs all within the same system. This comprehensive integrated master plan included 45+ medical group sites, numerous outpatient diagnostic and treatment areas as well as satellite urgent care facilities in various phases of development. The study included the OB/GYN specialty clinic referred to as All About Women and other clinical sites within the region. The MP worked in tandem with the hospital Strategic Planning Department and Senior Management as well as major departmental directors from the main hospital campus. The HFR team also addressed over 1 million square feet of acute care space on the main campus and master zoned the back fill areas that were planned to be vacated with the proposed completion of a new specialty care inpatient bed tower (currently under construction). The back fill master zoning was well received by the Reading Board of Directors and Senior Management and adopted as a part of the Visionary Master Plan. All this intense planning work occurred as the system rolled out a fully integrated IT system and provided staff training through Epic IT systems. In addition a number of staffing adjustments and process improvements occurred to complement both the facility improvements along with technology and systems.

VISTA Health System Two Hospitals East Campus 470K SF VISTA HEALTH SYSTEM HFR Design s challenge was to study consolidation of services to the Eat campus. This included evaluating services that would be merged with existing hospital services relocated to off-site facilities or to the main campus and services that would be discounted. The evaluation included bed unit configurations to preserve license beds, in addition to both outpatient and inpatient diagnostic, treatment and support services. An inventory of all services was initially developed and populated into a planning database which provided the opportunity to develop rapid evaluation of alternative scenarios from a cost/ benefit perspective. 7 Wellstar Acworth Health Park Master Planning 74K SF WELLSTAR ACWORTH HEALTH PARK The concept for the health park was proposed to be a one stop shop with a broad menu of community health service offerings. HFR Design was charged with building the space and functional requirements for the project by engaging providers, leadership and future staff in a coordinated and intergrated planning process that would ensur participation and owenship. In addition, the process included the development of function/ zoning diagrams which established scale, scope and organizational structure for the project. Acworth, GA Ground Floor Second Floor Third Floor

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Conceptual Design Space/ Functional Programming WELLSTAR KENNESTONE HOSPITAL We explored the development of several prototypes that could be configured with the existing floor template with the physical constraints of structural and vertical elements. The collective consensus was to create three prototype rooms for the variable acuity levels between the running unit types that would be flexible enough trend the future to facilitate variation in market demand with trends toward high acuity and chronic disease management. 250K SF Marietta, GA
