8 Tammie Martin, a paramedic with -Tupelo s Ambulance Services, and pediatrician Dr. Ed Ivancic have recently been recognized by Stars On-Line for their dedication to patients. Ambulance Services responded to a car accident during which one of the victims dogs ran away from the scene. The ambulance crew unsuccessfully searched for the dog, even giving their phone number to people who lived nearby and asking them to call Ambulance Services if the dog came back. Martin returned to the scene to search for the patient s dog, but had no luck. Later that afternoon, she got a call that Peppermint had come back and was safe. Martin drove back to the Stars On-Line scene to get the dog and cared for him at her home until the owner was able to get him. According to her nomination, Tammie has great care and compassion, not only for the patients we care for but the animals that are cared for by patients. Recently, Labor and Delivery at Women s Hospital had a patient who had no help with her two children while she was hospitalized.
