Wilson joined NMMC in She has also served as a unit coordinator, cardiac monitor technician, an LPN in the float pool and a physician analyst. She began her current job at NMMC-Pontotoc in January Kim comes to work with a smile and leaves with a smile, a coworker wrote in her nomination. She is the first to assist team members in need, first to help train new employees, first to cover an open shift, come in early or stay late. She leads by example for all other employees to follow. Wilson is from Houston and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. She earned her CLPN in Wilson received the CLPN Excellence in Nursing award in I enjoy people; it gives me great pleasure to care for the residents, Wilson said. This is a rewarding job that gives to me as I share the gift of nursing that God gave to me. She and her husband Tom have been married for 13 years and have four children Trey, 18; Jasmine, 16; Justin, 12; and Khloe, 5. The family attends Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ. 4 Cutlip Recognized as NMMC EOM Jerri Cutlip, RN, case manager for North Mississippi Medical Center s Women and Children s Services, has been selected by her peers as NMMC s most recent Employee of the Month. A graduate of Weir High School, Cutlip earned a bachelor s degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in She joined the NMMC staff as a registered nurse in 1991, left briefly in 2001 and returned in She served as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for eight years and as nurse manager of the NICU for more than two years. She has been in her current role since Despite serving in an office that many people would avoid, Jerri brings energy, optimism and genuine problem-solving abilities to her role, a coworker wrote in her nomination. She has a very kind and approachable nature that puts no one on the defense, another commented. In addition, coworkers cited Cutlip for working extra shifts in the NICU when additional help is needed. Keeping her nursing skills fresh helps her be a better team player and more informed case manager, the nomination states. David Wilson, NMMC president, and Ellen Friloux, administrator for Women and Children s Services, present Jerri Cutlip with the Employee of the Month Award. The best part of my job is the satisfaction of assisting a patient with their insurance/financial problems so that they can focus on their medical recovery, Cutlip said. She and her husband, Tim, live in Blue Springs and have a 23-year-old son, Matt. They attend church at The Orchard. Hospitalists Reception Drs. Ronny Young and Eric Webb, obstetrician/gynecologists on the medical staff, greet Dr. Sonya Marks of Lawrenceville, Ga., and other OB/GYN hospitalists during a reception June 1 at Women s Hospital. Effective June 2, Women s Hospital now has a boardcertified OB/GYN hospitalist aroundthe-clock at Women s Hospital working closely with NMMC s medical staff and to provide emergency services as needed. In addition to Dr. Marks, the OB/GYN hospitalists include Drs. Neeka Sanders of Sidon, Thomas Pearson of Starkville, James Gaddy of Long Beach and Steven George of Meridian. June 19, 2015 Page 4

5 Ramey Retires After 36 Years of Service Coworkers at NMMC s Business Services Center congratulate Judith Ramey (center) on her retirement in March after 36 years of service. A native of the Kirkville community in Itawamba County, Ramey graduated from Mantachie High School and worked in a factory for 10 years before joining the NMMC staff in March During her tenure she worked in admissions and as a financial counselor, and spent her last eight years in the billing office. While Ramey says she misses her coworkers, she is enjoying spending time with her 91-year-old father and her 6-year-old Maltipoo, Palin. NMMC Recognizes Stars Online NMMC recently recognized two employees through Stars Online for their dedication. Dr. Keyur Parikh, a hospitalist at NMMC-Tupelo, was recognized by the daughter of a former patient. When the mother passed away, the daughter was trying to raise money to cover funeral expenses. Dr. Parikh contacted the daughter to ask how much was needed and how to donate. Shortly thereafter, the funeral home notified the daughter that Dr. Parikh had paid the balance in full. We are so lucky to have a person like this working for NMMC, his nomination states. Dr. Charlotte Magnussen, an obstetriciangynecologist with The Women s Group in West Point and Columbus, was recognized for assisting one of her patients who has cancer. The patient s oncologist in Jackson was willing to accept Ambetter insurance, but no hospital in Jackson would accept it. After Dr. Magnussen called the insurance commissioner concerning the situation, he arranged for the hospital to accept the insurance so that the patient could have the surgery she needed. If you see someone performing in an extraordinary manner like these, nominate him or her for Stars Online. Page 5 June 19, 2015
