1 THE ADVOCATE The Official Publication of Texas Nurses Association, District 9 May 2018 Greetings Members, President s Message Hope all is well! This newsletter contains an exciting announcement; our latest election results! We appreciate all who ran for a position and are grateful for your interest in participating in TNA D9! Our membership has grown notably over the last year, and we have many inquiries about how members can get involved. There are several upcoming projects for all who are interested! We have just begun working on our documentary that is planned to air on a local TV network in December This project is moving fast and we still need as much input as possible. We are counting on your diverse perspectives to ensure this project is meaningful and relevant for TNA D9, as well as the nursing profession. Another opportunity for involvement is with planning our annual Nursing Celebration scheduled for November We had such a special event last year, and we need your help to make this one just as special! We also have a few small opportunities, such as representing TNA D9 at an upcoming professional Rugby game and planning local educational meetings. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss how you can become more involved in TNA D9! Congrats to our newly elected officers! Lisa Boss, PhD, RN, CNS, CEN Page 1
