3 ABOUT RECRUITEX ABOUT RecruiteX is the recruitment index for India. It is an analysis identifying the hiring activity and trends in India Inc. Based on tactful extraction and examination of jobs posted and applied for in a month, it details 'recruitment' as a process backed by hiring sentiments of a recruiter and aspirations of a job seeker. It is the only report which decodes the hiring trends in the country after evaluating the demand and supply of talent across industries. METHODOLOGY RecruiteX represents the demand and supply aspects of recruitment. Demand for talent is computed by factoring activities of recruiters on TimesJobs.com. The supply of talent is representative of activities conducted by job-seekers on TimesJobs.com. This demand and supply data is integrated with numbers collected by our offline team and then segregated according to top industry verticals, functional areas and locations. The base value for the index has been kept at 100 for the month of December All RecruiteX values for subsequent months represent the trend of RecruiteX viz-a-viz December The supply data has been recalibrated in the month of August 2015 to incorporate market reality. RecruiteX, in its most comprehensible format, is aimed to provide a detailed insight of the recruitment market in India to employers, recruiters and job seekers alike.

5 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Talent demand dropped by 4 per cent during August 2015, as hiring activity slowed down across key sectors, reveals the latest RecruiteX, the recruitment index by TimesJobs.com. Overall hiring activity witnessed a 1 per cent drop since January Among key sectors, projects/infrastructure/power/energy reported highest drop in demand followed by construction. Engineers registered the maximum drop in demand. Business management/consultants/ freelancers too posted significant drop in demand during August Among key locations, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Vadodara, Jaipur and Indore saw notable drop in demand during the month. Hiring activity was sluggish across experience categories barring the 2-5 years experience bracket, which reported a nominal rise in demand during August Candidates with over 20 years of experience witnessed the maximum drop; they were sought-after during July The category posted a 19 per cent demand drop in monthover-month analysis. Supply index witnessed a 3 per cent fall during the month, indicating a drop in job-seeking activity. Travel & hospitality and BPO/ITeS sectors reported the maximum drop.these sectors witnessed an average drop of 19 per cent in jobseeking activity during August 2015, according to the latest RecruiteX by TimesJobs.com.

6 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY DEMAND Among the key sectors, projects/infrastructure/power/energy industry reported 15 per cent drop in hiring Engineers reported 18 per cent drop in demand. Business management/ consultant/freelancer profiles witnessed 9 per cent drop in demand Among top locations, Vadodara witnessed 23 per cent drop in demand. Among metros, Delhi NCR reported 4 per cent drop in demand The August 2015 demand index was sluggish for candidates across experience categories. Candidates with over 20 years of experience observed highest (19%) drop in demand during the month Overall, hiring reported 4% drop during August The demand index was up by 8% in July July was the only month after January 2015 to report rise in talent demand.

7 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SUPPLY Among top ten, the travel & hospitality industry witnessed the maximum (21%) drop in supply of talent during August 2015 Hospitality professionals reported maximum (19%) drop in job-seeking activity. Front office/administration professionals saw 17 per cent drop in supply during August 2015 Among top locations, Chandigarh witnessed maximum (33%) drop in jobseeking activity. Delhi NCR witnessed 14 per cent drop in supply of talent Supply of talent was low across most experience categories, with candidates with 2-5 years of experience reporting 13 per cent drop The supply index registered 3 per cent drop in month-over-month analysis. Travel & hospitality and BPO/ ITeS industries were the significant contributors to this drop in supply of talent.

8 RECRUITMENT HIGHLIGHTS Demand for talent Supply of talent October 2014 August 2015 The demand index dropped across major industries, functional areas and locations during August Similar to demand, the supply index also declined across major sectors and profiles. Demand The demand index posted negative momentum and was at 87 points, 3 points down from the previous month (July 2015) Demand has been slipping below the base mark of 100 (recorded in December 2010) since March 2015 Industry specific core roles such as engineering, logistics/supply chain management and hospitality saw significant drop in demand during the month Supply The supply index reported a drop of 3 per cent. The index closed at 78 points in August 2015 from 81 points recorded in July 2015 Overall, supply remained sluggish, resulting in an average drop of 3 points. Since January 2015, the supply of talent has reported an average 8 per cent drop Amid negative sentiments, some sectors including IT/telecom, retail, logistics & warehousing and projects/ infrastructure witnessed rise

9 Recruitment trend by INDUSTRY DEMAND Among the top ten sectors, projects/ infrastructure registered maximum (15%) drop in hiring activity during August Petrochemicals/oil and gas sector reported 11 per cent drop in demand The IT/telecom and retail sector saw stable (0%) hiring during the month. The logistics & warehousing and healthcare sector reported 1 per cent rise in demand Among other key sectors, manufacturing and automobile posted 7 per cent drop in hiring activity SUPPLY Among top ten industries, the travel & hospitality industry reported maximum (21%) drop in supply of talent, followed by healthcare/biotechnology sector (9%), during August 2015 The retail sector posted over 30 per cent rise in supply during the month. Consumer durables/fmcg sector witnessed 13 per cent rise in job-seeking activity The BPO/ITeS sector reported 17 per cent drop in supply of talent, while supply was stable in the automobile sector Demand reported drop across most key industry segments. Projects/ infrastructure and petrochemicals/ oil & gas sectors reported significant drop in demand during the month. Supply was also low across most major sectors. 10 Recruitment trend by FUNCTION DEMAND Among key functional areas, engineers reported 18 per cent drop in demand. Between Jan-Aug 2015, this profile witnessed 4 per cent drop in demand Business management/consultants/ freelancers witnessed 9 per cent drop in demand. Hospitality professionals saw 7 per cent drop in demand IT/telecom professionals reported 1 per cent rise in demand. Customer service (3%) and sales/bd (2%) professionals also witnessed rise in demand SUPPLY Hospitality professionals saw highest (19%) drop in job-seeking activity. Front office/administration professionals posted 17 per cent drop in supply Marketing & advertising profiles posted 5 per cent drop in supply. IT/ telecom profiles saw 1 per cent drop in supply Entertainment/media/journalism professionals posted 22 per cent rise in jobseeking activity. Unlike demand, engineers posted 4 per cent rise in supply During August 2015, demand was sluggish across key functional areas. Engineers posted highest drop in demand during the month. Supply was also inactive for most key profiles. 11 Recruitment trend by LOCATION DEMAND Among top ten locations, Vadodara reported the maximum (23%) drop in demand during August 2015 Among metros, Delhi NCR posted highest drop (4%) in talent demand during the month. Bengaluru was the only metro to reported rise (2%) in demand Among other key locations, Mumbai saw 1 per cent drop in demand. Indore reported 18 per cent drop in demand during August 2015 SUPPLY Among top ten, Chandigarh registered the highest (over 30%) drop in job-seeking activity during August 2015 Delhi NCR saw 14 per cent drop in supply during the month. Between Jan- Aug 2015, the region posted an average 11 per cent drop in supply Jaipur reported 11 per cent drop in supply during August 2015, while jobseeking activity in Chennai was down by 3 per cent Demand witnessed negative hiring momentum in most major locations during August Tier II and III locations were the worst performing job hubs during the month. Supply index was also down across geographies. Candidates with 2-5 years experience reported nominal rise (1%) in demand SUPPLY Candidates with over 20 years experience reported the maximum (12%) rise in job-seeking activity followed by candidates with years experience (4%) Candidates with 2-5 years experience reported the highest drop (13%) in jobseeking activity during August 2015 Candidates with 0-2 years and 5-10 years of experience registered a 2 per cent drop in supply during August 2015 Demand for talent dropped across experience categories. Senior-level candidates reported the maximum drop in demand during the month. Supply was also sluggish across most experience categories.
