6 About the Office of Supplier Diversity The Office of Supplier Diversity oversees certification, compliance, training, outreach, and capacity building for the City of New Orleans local, small and disadvantaged businesses ( DBEs ) through our Equal Business Opportunity Programs 6

7 Our Mission The Office of Supplier Diversity is dedicated to creating and implementingprograms programs, policies, andproceduresthatassist assist local, small and disadvantaged business enterprises with gaining greater access to procurement opportunities and resources to build competitively viable andsustainable businesses in the City of New Orleans 7

8 Our Vision Our vision is to build a national model for local governments on how to deliver and capture value through supplier diversity 8

9 Our Key Objectives Increasethe number and dollar amount of contracts with certifieddbe firms Increase the number of available and capable certified DBE firms Improve compliance and monitoring of DBE participation on bids, RFPs and RFQs Help DBE firms build competitive and sustainable businesses 9

11 Certification DBE Certifications Certifications/Month ( 2010): 1.75 Certifications/Month (2011): 3.60 Certifications/Month (Aug. Oct. 2011): 6.0 August 2011: Began hosting monthly certification seminars to improve outreach to potential program applicants 11

12 Outreach 180 Business owners trained on applying for DBE certification through our monthly certification seminar series 610 Entrepreneurs have attended an event or seminar hosted by the Office of Supplier Diversity 110 Business leaders have participated in Office of Supplier Diversity policy and program strategies 2,137 Monthly Office of Supplier Diversity Newsletter Recipients 350 Entrepreneurs received information on Office of Supplier Diversity programs at an event hosted by an Office of Supplier Diversity non profit or government partner agency 12

13 Compliance Hired a Compliance Officer and Tracked DBE participation on every bid, RFP and RFQs opened in 2011 Revised outdated compliance forms for compliance with Louisiana PublicBidLaw and created new DBE forms to educate internal and external stakeholders about complyingwith DBEgoals 13
