1 GROW RUP Entrepreneurship development and capacity building policies for business creation and growth in outermost regions You are reading the 3rd GROW RUP newsletter GROW RUP supports the creation and growth of innovative companies in the green and blue economy to reduce long-term unemployment in EU outermost regions. The project involves five EU outermost regions: Canary Islands, Reunion, Azores, Madeira and Martinique. GROW RUP learning process is conducted during the years A key element of the project is interregional site visits organised in partner regions, where partners share strategies and experiences and brainstorm with policy-makers and stakeholders on employment support measures for green and blue economy. The third and fourth interregional site visits took place in Madeira island on June and June 2018 respectively. Key outcomes of the meeting are summarized below. Moreover, the Canarian partner, the Servicio Canario de Empleo, organized a workshop to identify training needs for green and blue economies. Read more about GROW RUP: GROW RUP Third Interregional Site Visit June 2018 in Madeira The 3rd interregional event took place in Madeira Island (Portugal) on June 2018, and it was organised by the Madeira Employment Institute (IP-RAM). The meeting was structured as a two-day event. On the first day the partners and their stakeholders engaged in a workshop to understand the characteristics of regional green and blue economies activities and their potential to support employment creation. On the second day a field trip took place in order to get to know at first hand regional cases of good practices.

3 GROW RUP Fourth Interregional Site Visit June 2018 in Azores The 4th interregional event took place in São Miguel Island in the Azores (Portugal) on June 2018, and it was organised by the Regional Department for Employment and Professional Training. The meeting was structured as a three-day event. On the first day the partners proceeded to the Steering Group meeting with the aim of sharing information about GROW RUP project itself and defining upcoming events. The second day was dedicated to a workshop where partners and their stakeholders shared good practices in the field of the green and blue economy and the creation of employment. On the third day a field trip took place to get to know at first hand regional cases of good practices. Regional Workshop organized by the Servicio Canario de Empleo to map the Training and Skills needs in green and blue economy 28 May 2018 in Canary Islands On Monday 28th of May, in the framework of the EU Green Week, the Public Employment Service of the Canary Islands organized a workshop to start the process of mapping the Training and Skills needs in the sector. To the event participated the employers associations and trade unions and companies of the Blue-Green sector. The objective was to inform the development of a vocational training strategy for regional unemployed people, oriented to fulfil their needs.
