11 Flexibility is the key At COBIS, you will have access to office facilities and modern laboratories at the highest international standards, with the flexibility to scale up or down according to your needs. Part of the COBIS philosophy is giving you the freedom to easily expand or reduce your area in the science park, providing offices that always meet your needs. COBIS also offer laboratory facilities suited to research in gene technology and radioactivity. The laboratories are designed to fit your equipment, and if necessary, we can help you acquire fume hoods, benches, incubators etc. - anything you need to conduct first-class research. Orphazyme moved to COBIS in April 2010 and has had significant growth ever since. With our demands for flexibility, COBIS has been a valuable partner as our need for more space and services have developed. 19 Homage to our founders COBIS is the grand result of the political vision of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, and the Capital Region of Denmark to strengthen the biotechnological competences of the region. Behind COBIS are two of the most experienced science parks in Denmark: Symbion Science Park and Scion DTU a/s. These science parks have decades of experience in operating hightech facilities, commercializing research, venture financing new start-ups, and co-operating with universities, research institutions, trade, industry, and the entire palette of business advisers. Symbion Symbion Science Park has 30 years of experience in helping young, ambitious companies working with innovative, high technology and researchbased ideas within IT, telecom, biotech, pharmacology, or medicine. Every year, Symbion helps approximately 220 young companies with facilities, business development and/or financing. Scion DTU Scion DTU, owned by Denmark s Technical University, helps innovative people and businesses realise their high-tech ideas - and commercialise them.
