The pre-eminent British-Polish business network
Introducing the BPCC Membership is corporate, so when your company joins, every employee is entitled to make use of the benefits offered by all the regional offices across Poland and the UK. Note from Antoni F. Reczek OBE, BPCC Chairman Business leaders need to be well connected with other business leaders and with those in government. Sharing best practice, business insights and contacts, the well-networked executive is far more effective. When it comes to creating an effective network in the Polish- British business space, the BPCC cannot be matched. Since 1992 we ve been integrating UK investors in Poland; that s our core but that s not all we do. As a bilateral chamber of commerce, the BPCC supports UK exporters entering the Polish market, Polish exporters entering the UK market, Polish entrepreneurs in the UK and investors looking at both markets. New business leads come not only from within our established network of members; much of the work we do supporting exporters involves passing on contacts to our members, whose expertise we can vouch for. In 2015, we organised over 150 events around Poland and the UK, working with institutions such as the UK Embassy in Warsaw, the Polish Embassy in London, local authorities across Poland, business institutions in both countries and through COBCOE (the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental Europe) with UK firms across Europe. As a chamber accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce, the BPCC can guarantee a level of service that leads to tangible business results. If you are interested in doing business in or between the UK and Poland join us! Our offer Join us and we will make sure you get the best out of your membership: Direct access to ~400 member companies and several thousand cooperating businesses Investor advice and business data from market experts and sector specialists Best practice and unique business development through 12 Policy Groups Informative business media: Contact Magazine Online and Access to board-level business and government decision-makers First-class networking, certified training and VIP events Support for importers and exporters from the UK and Poland Up-to-the minute economic information and market sector intelligence Customised products, on-demand services and individual offerings Ask our relationship management team about how we can promote your business. membership@bpcc.org.pl
The pre-eminent British-Polish business network Digital Media Centre Talking directly to your customers The BPCC offers range of targeted media and communication channels, all of which you can use as a chamber member. We encourage our members to create bespoke integrated campaigns, exploiting the advantages of different media. Members receive discounts which increase with the size and scope of the campaign. BPCC Portal The first place to visit online for quality information and insight about doing business between the UK and Poland. There s a dedicated section for British exporters, and one for Polish companies interested in selling their products to the UK. The portal is intuitive, innovative and automated. New services and the new Membership Directory allow for personalised access and wider member-to-member communication. News from members, articles and events information is updated daily; members are encouraged to contribute quality content. To interact with the BPCC and its members without leaving your office, you can use features such as our social media tools and mobile application (coming soon). Members can edit their own entry in the Membership Directory, upload their special offers for other members and have full access to exclusive business content available only to members. This year, the BPCC plans to expand access channels to our network and to introduce innovations including mobile application. Contact Magazine Online Contact Online keeps members informed about opportunities for bilateral trade, sharing insights and best practice, explaining how to overcome potential barriers when entering the UK or Polish markets. There s useful information about doing business; you re kept up to date with BPCC events and recommended services. The magazine also provides members with news coverage, chamber updates, professional advice and opinions from recognised experts and practitioners. There are also reports of BPCC meetings with ministers and senior government officials, articles from top experts on the Polish economy, as well as fresh information about new business opportunities. Contact Online is a unique and effective advertising vehicle for reaching senior decision-makers across Poland and the UK.
BPCC Policy Groups Creating a better business environment Food Policy Group brings together producers and retailers and all who provide services such as marketing, certification and logistics to the sector. The group meets with ministers, regulators and other government officials; representatives of Poland s food producers and retailers organisations. Telecoms, Media and Technology Policy Group addresses regulatory issues affecting firms across these sectors intellectual property and software, cloud computing, e-marketing, European Single Digital Market and future IT trends. Engages with GIODO on data protection. Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Policy Group engages with government, parliament and local authorities to discuss the delivery of public infrastructure by the private sector. The UK s huge experience in PPP offers lessons negative as well as positive from which Poland can learn when it comes to structuring projects. Public Procurement Policy Group is for managers from firms that bid for public-sector tenders, and for lawyers and consultants specialising in this area. The group was formed so that members can speak freely about problems encountered with the public procurement process in Poland and to suggest improvements. Regulators from the UZP, policy-makers and legislators attend the meetings. The group showcases UK best practice in enhancing professionalism in procurement. Human Resources Policy Group aims to promote active employment policies and standards, drawing on UK and international best practice. Meetings often include representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, labour offices, regulators and other officials; it s a platform for dialogue between BPCC members and the public sector. Other issues discussed by the group include vocational education, soft-skills coaching, leadership and assessment. Healthcare Policy Group develops proposals to improve patient access to innovative, effective therapies. Exchange of best practice between the UK and Poland, and between BPCC members and the Polish public sector, as ageing populations place ever-greater demands for health services. The group focuses on clinical trials, personalised medicine, coordinated care, healthy ageing and private healthcare. These issues are discussed with decision-makers, experts and managers from public and private sectors. CleanTech & Energy Policy Group discusses the implementation of technologies that will enable businesses to contribute profitably to the sustainable generation of power. The group s focus is energy, environmental protection and sustainable technologies. Shale gas, nuclear and renewables, including waste-to-energy are also discussed. Representatives of government, regulators and local authorities take part too. Tax and Finance Reform Policy Group focuses on deregulation, taxes, excise duty and social security. The aim is to influence and improve policy in the tax system, targeting barriers to investment, business growth and employment. Making tax payments simpler and improving the business environment in Poland are priorities for the group. Finance ministry representatives are invited to the meetings. Transport Infrastructure & Logistics Policy Group looks at the infrastructure sector, and road, rail, sea and air transport. At regular meetings with representatives of government agencies and ministries the group presses for improved transport links and promotes Poland as a location for logistics operations. It also propagates best practice from the UK. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy Group promotes best practice in corporate behaviour and how firms interacts with the social and natural environments. Sustainability building businesses to last rather than ones focused on quarterly results is an important part of the group s philosophy. It offers learning opportunities for BPCC members, and serves as a platform for voicing ideas to government. Real Estate & Construction Policy Group brings together members with an interest in property developers, contractors, facilities managers and agents. Meetings focus on issues such as zoning and planning permissions; contract enforcement and investor protection; public procurement; and the regulatory environment for the sector. Sustainable investment, including green building, is also covered. The group promotes Building Information Modelling (BIM) across Poland. Manufacturing Industries Policy Group is a platform for sharing best practice and discussing issues common to all manufacturers, such as energy costs, environmental protection, supply chain and skills. Meetings of the Group take place in members factories and include tours of the facilities.
The pre-eminent British-Polish business network BPCC Trade A world-class export consultancy for British business, creating new opportunities for members Since signing an agreement with UK Trade & Investment in April 2013 to provide services for British businesses looking to enter the Polish market, BPCC Trade, the team set up by the chamber, has become a world-leading export consultancy. Having helped over 1,300 unique exporters already, BPCC Trade provides consultancy services including research, analysis, logistics, sales and marketing support to help British companies enter or grow their sales in the Polish market. BPCC Trade s Top Five clients now predict sales of over 50m over the next five years thanks to its support. Its nine advisors bring a wide variety of business experience from both countries to help British and Polish companies connect and do business. Companies manufacturing products as different as paintbrushes, high-end showers and vintage Cheddar cheese are now selling across Poland as a result of BPCC Trade s support. Testimonials on BPCC Trade can be found on the chamber s YouTube channel. Opportunities for Members Part of BPCC Trade s success has been its position within the chamber s strong business-to-business network. Throughout its existence, BPCC Trade has been working to connect British companies, drawing upon the expertise of the BPCC member network and its strategic partners. That means identifying the needs of exporters and connecting them with members to see how they can help. Find out more by contacting trade@bpcc.org.pl exporters who are not present on the UK market yet should interest themselves in the UK as a potential longterm market. BPCC Export Service BPCC helps Polish companies sell to the UK The Polish economy continues to grow rapidly and is competitive in many sectors. Polish manufacturers are continuously producing highly innovative, quality goods that sell well in European markets. Polish products are increasingly perceived as offering the right balance between price and quality, being cheaper and of higher quality than goods manufactured in many other parts of Europe. While for the UK, Poland is merely its 22nd biggest export market, the UK is for Poland its second-biggest export market after Germany. This would suggest that Polish In response to strong interest from Polish manufacturers wishing to export their products and services to the UK, in 2014 the BPCC launched a support service intended to help businesses from all over Poland by matchmaking them with potential British partners. The BPCC has great contacts not only with exporters across Poland wanting to sell to the UK but also with British importers interested in buying from Poland. The focal point of the service is to identify the suitable UK importer, buyer, agent, distributor and end-user. Additional help is provided by BPCC members operating in sectors such as translation, logistics, marketing, legal and IT. The entire process is supported by the BPCC s unrivalled expertise and its strong business networks across both countries. Over the course of 2015, the BPCC held 14 meetings with Polish exporters right across the country. In total, nearly 600 Polish firms have had access to information from the BPCC and its members about the UK market last year. Polish-based companies looking to sell to the UK, or a UK-based companies looking to buy from Poland should contact: eksport@bpcc.org.pl
