2 Page 2 Travis Says, SURFSIDE DEPUTY REPORT DEPUTY T. OSTGAARD FEBRUARY 1st 7th, 2018 On 02/03 I assisted with the ground search for the missing woman off the beach, North of Oysterville approach. On 02/07 I was contacted by a homeowner about a cold prowler in the block of G Pl. The reporting party stated that her neighbor saw someone in her yard and looking through her windows at her vacation house. The reporting party stated it happened about a 3-4 days ago and she just found out. I was later notified by the homeowner that the person looking around the house was a person that the homeowner had hired to trap racoons under her house. On 02/07 I was dispatched to the block of N St. for an on-going harassment complaint. The reporting party stated that his neighbor has been harassing him because his grandmother had fired him (the suspect) while doing some house remodeling. The reporting party stated that he has asked the neighbor to leave him alone, but he continues to harass him. The reporting party just wanted to know about anti-harassment orders. On 02/07 I was dispatched to the block of M Pl. for a court order violation. I contacted the victim and she stated that her ex-boyfriend was at her house and refusing to leave. The victim stated there is an active restraining order and she wanted the suspect arrested. The victim had left the house prior to calling 911, and when we got to the house, the suspect was gone. The suspect also went back to the house later in the evening when I was off, and there will be two charges of DV protection order violation on the suspect. Traffic warnings: 10-Citation: 2-Suspicious circumstances: 1-Harassment: 1-Court order violation: 1 SLOW DOWN!! 25 mph in all Surfside areas other than I Street North of the mini-mall! Emergency? 8 Page 8 Firewise Its almost that time of year for the Firewise program to begin. We are looking for volunteers for the chipping site. These are 2 hours shifts on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Typically the shifts are 10am-12pm or 12pm-2pm. If you are interested in volunteering just call the office

10 Page 10 PACIFIC COUNTY EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM Effective September 1, 2013, Pacific County transitioned to a new emergency notification system. The new system has the ability to contact you regarding via home phone, cellular phone, text message, , and/or TDD. This system may be used by emergency response personnel to notify specific homes and businesses at risk with information about a disaster or emergency event. You will only be called when the associated address will be impacted by the event. If you registered your cellular or VoIP phone number prior to September 1, 2013, you are encouraged to re-register and landline users are encouraged to update their information. The new system can be personalized based on your needs and the type of notifications you wish to receive. The hyper-reach system notifies you by , phone, and/or text in the event of an emergency. To receive notifications on your cellular phone sign up by clicking the link above. If you ve already registered your cellular phone and did not receive a call when you believe you should have, please contact the Pacific County Emergency Management Agency at (360) When will I receive a weather alert? Weather alerts are triggered by NOAA and for Pacific County include: tsunami watch, tsunami warning, extreme wind warning, severe thunderstorm warning, and tornado warning. 3. If I signed up previously, is my number still in the system? Yes, your number should still be in the system. However, if you have signed up previously, there are some new options within the system that you may want to consider and PCEMA suggests that you visit the community sign up website and register again in order to update your information.

11 Page 11 Architectural Committee Just a reminder if you are planning on installing a fence or a shed, a garage or a house or even doing a little remodeling ALL building plans must be submitted to the Architectural Committee prior to any construction. The committee usually meets weekly on Tuesdays at 9 a.m., dependent upon if there s anything on the agenda. All applicants are encouraged to attend the meeting (if possible) to answer any questions that may arise. The building packets are available on our website at or you can pick one up from the business office. Two (2) sets of plans must be submitted to the committee. Once approved, you will get a copy of the plans that have been stamped so you can take them to the county for their approval. For more detailed information on the Architectural Committee duties and guidelines you can find them on our website or call the business office with any questions.
