2 What are WESTT and NASTT? Conference Information WESTT is a regional chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology ( which is affiliated with the International Society for Trenchless Technology ( WESTT is a non-profit organization established in 2004 and includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico. The purpose of WESTT, NASTT, and ISTT is to promote education and development of Trenchless Technology for public benefit. What is the Conference Format? Registration for the first day of the conference includes an informative technical program of papers. Attendees will have many opportunities to interact with the many exhibitors during sponsored meals, breaks, and a reception that evening. On the second day of the conference, two 4-hour NASTT Good Practices Courses will be offered: Trenchless 101: New Installations and Trenchless 101: Rehab. Attendees may participate in either or both days of the conference (see rates on registration form). Who should attend? The conference and course are both useful to public officials, engineers, utility company personnel, designers, and contractors who are involved with constructing, rehabilitating, and managing underground utilities. Government employees receive a special discounted registration rate for the conference and Good Practices Courses. Earn valuable Continuing Education Units (CEU's)! Attendee Registration Discounts: Register before August 27, 2018 to receive an early-bird discount of $50 off both the conference and course fees. NASTT members receive a $75 discount for both the conference and course fees. Government Employees are eligible for deeply discounted registration rates* for both the conference and course. 3 Keynote Speaker Jim Thompson City Manager, City of Scottsdale Jim Thompson was appointed as Scottsdale City Manager in January Prior to that, Mr. Thompson served as the city manager of Casa Grande, Arizona; Bothell, Washington and Bullhead City, Arizona. He has over 30 years of experience as a city manager. Mr. Thompson has also served on the Arizona State Personnel Board since 2004 and as an adjunct professor in Arizona State University s Department of Public Affairs since Mr. Thompson has a bachelor s degree in accounting from Indiana University, a master s degree in business administration from Regis University, a PhD from La Salle University and attended the Senior Executive Program at Harvard.
