Stop Snyder Petition We can t afford Governor Snyder s $2 billion tax cut to special interests like CEOs, big corporations, insurance companies and big banks, all while asking our seniors, children, middle-class families and low-wage workers to pick up the tab. We need to stand up and tell Gov. Snyder that devastating cuts to public education, eliminating the earned income tax credit (EITC) and sharply raising taxes on our seniors is no way to re-invent Michigan. It s not shared sacrifice and it s no way to create jobs in Michigan. The majority of Michiganders believe that Gov. Snyder s budget priorities are wrong and Michigan Democrats agree. According to a new EPIC-MRA poll, 62% oppose cutting K-12 funding. We can t compete in a global economy if we don t have an educated workforce. We need to be investing in our children, not taking money out of the classroom. Nearly 60% oppose eliminating the EITC, a tax credit that helps many workers in Michigan stay above the poverty line. Help us fight Gov. Snyder s budget proposal. 6 Political Organizing Director, Michigan Democratic Party RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Chair, oversees all political organizing activity of the Party, including but not limited to building and maintaining relationships with elected Democratic officials, national and local Party organizations, constituency groups and allied organizations; planning and executing organizing efforts; training of Party members and activists; candidate recruitment and training; voter registration and education; issues conferences; national convention delegate selection; and supervision of a field/organizing staff. During the six months prior to November in a General Election year, duties may be changed to include working on campaigns. QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment to the goals and ideals of the Democratic Party is a prerequisite. Requires excellent supervisory and personnel management skills. Substantial experience in political organizing required. Must be organized, responsible and able to work independently under pressure in a challenging political environment. Computer literacy required. SALARY AND BENEFITS: $40,000 - $55,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Medical, dental and optical insurance and a 40l(k) pension plan. Reimbursement available for certain work-related expenses.
