Looking for a way to help others in Lake Geneva? Side by Side, a local all-volunteer, non-profit organization is looking for people who are interested in helping their neighbors! Join us at our Volunteer Open House, Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. at Avant Bicycle and Café 234 Broad St., Lake Geneva. Side by Side helps families with urgent financial needs with money for rent, utilities, medication, and information about other local resources. Business meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ on Wisconsin St. Clients are interviewed on the third Tuesday of each month at the same location. Come learn about open volunteer opportunities. We need people who are comfortable working directly with people as well as people who prefer to work behind the scenes. 5 FALL BIBLE STUDY The St. Francis De Sales Fall Bible Study Group will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall, Our study this session will be the Gospel of St. Mark. This will be a 10 week session and will meet every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Cost for the session is $15.00 for materials. We warmly welcome new members. Blessed Columba Marmion NEW HORIZONS WEEKEND OF HEALING FOR SEPARATED/DIVORCED Friday-Sunday, September 28-30, 2018 Schoenstatt Retreat Center in Waukesha This healing weekend is designed to help each participant embark upon a new phase of life. It is an opportunity for divorced persons to pause and examine their lives their strong points and weaknesses, their hurts, disappointments, joys and frustrations. It is a weekend of involvement. 9 PRAYER FOR SEPTEMBER ~ The Month of Our Lady of Sorrows Most holy Virgin and mother, whose soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow in the Passion of thy divine Son, and who in His glorious Resurrection was filled with never-ending joy at His triumph; obtain for us who call upon thee, so to be partakers in the adversities of Holy Church and the sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff, as to be found worthy to rejoice with them in the consolation For which we pray, in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord. Amen. In this pray to the Mother of Sorrows, we ask Mary to pray for us, so that we May look forward to the joy that comes from remaining faithful to Christ.

The annual Archdiocesan Jubilee Celebration is Saturday, October 6, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the XXIII (St. Peter Campus), 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington, WI This Mass honors those married in 1993 or 1968, celebrating their 25 th (silver) or 50 th (golden) wedding anniversaries. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Volunteers are needed to make the 6th annual Soles for Catholic Education Walk a success. Volunteers are needed on Saturday morning, October 20 at Mount Mary to help with parking, route management, hospitality, logistics and food. Volunteers are also needed at Mount Mary on Friday, October 19 to help set-up. We encourage our volunteers to be Safeguard trained.
